Too narrow, too small
Different fit that the old TX4. I bought my usual size that works across all La Sportiva shoes/boots. Such a disappointment. They are too narrow (the old ones were great!) and feel smaller too. Basically the toe box is completely different which ruins the whole shoe Really wish companies would stop re-designing products that don’t need updates. Nothing is updated but the fit
Uncomfortable shoe
I bought these brand-new shoes at my local outdoor activities shop, and I am disappointed as well. I got my usual TX4 size, and everything seemed normal as I tried them on. After walking with them for a few days, I started to feel uncomfortable around my instep, and a need for more room for toes has also arisen... In addition, I went back to the store to try on a half size bigger, as I started to think maybe this was my issue of getting the wrong size. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case; a half size bigger was too slippery on me. They are way narrower than the old shoe version. A pity that I cannot return them, as they no longer have tags.
Finally! Great hiking shoes!
Love these hiking shoes and I’ve tried every brand on the market. They have great toe protection, also wide toe box, good traction and they are stiff so holds my foot in place. My foot is a little narrow so added a foot bed. Only complaint is that the laces are not long enough.
10/10 for me
I love mine! I wore them on my canyoneering trip and they were perfect. Great grip. Comfortable. I didn’t get any blisters. They look good,
EVOs are a huge downgrade. Bring back OG TX4s
Please bring back the TX4 we know and love. The EVOs are EVil. Would give them a 0 star rating if I could. I bought my usual size in the EVOs, not realizing the fit had changed over the original TX4s. Too tight, my toes died. No harm, no foul I tried sizing up and was swimming in the half size bigger—ended up with drop foot for 2 days after wearing the large, stiff EVO on a 7 mile hike. TX4s were the only shoe I was reliably comfortable in—I even backpacked in them on 100+ mile treks. I have high volume feet with a narrow heel and these were my cinderella slipper.
What happened to TX4?
I've been using the old style TX4 for several years now, and was in need to get another pair. I decided to try the EVO model since finding the old TX4 has gotten difficult. And what a disappointment! The shoe is a bit smaller in size. ok. But as well a lot more narrow and doesn't have the wide space for the toes as the old TX4. The heel has as well gotten liftet some, and for me this changes the whole experience walking with it. The quality has also droppet with the EVO model, seeing that the black panels on the side are already semi-loose while still in box, while this is not the case with the old version TX4, even afters 2 years with a lot of mountain and terrain hikes. This ones gets returned asap. And please La Sportiva, bring back the old TX4.
Love These!
I can't speak to the durability or grippiness yet, but these shoes are super cute and extremely comfortable! I have long narrow feet, size 10.5. I often buy 11s, and I purchased 42 (the largest size offered) and it's a perfect fit. I really like the toe box and stability!
great pair of hiking shoes for all climates
I have been on the hunt for a pair of hiking shoes with great traction in all types of climate. I have heard great things about this brand and wanted to try it out on my most recent trip to Mt Rainier. The La Sportiva TX4 held up pretty good in downpour muddy trails, in rocky trails, and in snowy slippery trails. The downsides are sizing is inaccurate and only fits well for those who narrow feet width. I personally wear a women's US 8, which typically translates into EU 38. However, I bought the EU 39, so I'd recommend sizing up from your usual size. Alongside feet width, upon walking 1 mile in, I felt a blister coming from the chaffing and there was no arch support. As someone with flat feet and regular width, comfortability was a 3/5. I was able to survive longer hikes but I wouldn't say these are comfortable shoes out of the box. Other than that, the TX4 evo's stayed resistant from dirt and mud after rinsing off with water.
Poor design. Painful shoe
Terrible decision to change the toe box. I bought these having had the original TX 4 and 3s which I love. Basically no room for toes and my feet and shins were in pain. Hoping I can sell these to recover some of the money spent. Please consider bringing the old ones back.
Poor quality
Poor quality - sole in the back was coming unglued after 5 months. Hiked in the shoes about 30 days total in the time that I owned them.
