Features

  • Adaptive Range Mode features a Range Limiter and Rear Drop-Cuff that can be unlocked to widen the top opening of the boot for a significantly expanded range of motion
  • Disengaging the Ride Mode strap opens the Rear Drop-Cuff and 2-way stretch gore, providing significantly more calf articulation and allowing for longer strides
  • BOA® fit system adds an extra BOA lace that passes around the back of the boot and across the instep to optimize the lines of pull and maximize the flex control capabilities
  • Custom Slide Guide enables adjustable flex control and powerful heel hold through the instep—simply slide it to where you need it and get dialed in
  • PowerCuff strap provides extra support at the top of the boot for increased stability and response
  • Waterproof zipper shroud protects the lower part of the boot from snow, ice and moisture, ensuring easy access to the BOA closure no matter what the weather throws at you
  • Metal D-ring for securely fastening your pant gaiters to lock out snow
  • Removable, high-rebound Hytrel® tongue stiffeners let you custom-tune the boot flex—keep both in for maximum support, or use just one for increased lateral or medial response
  • Take both stiffeners out for a softer-flexing boot; as your boots soften up over time, add the tongue stiffeners back in to extend the life of your boots
  • V3 Range Edition UltraCush liners with The North Face FlashDry™
  • FlashDry fabric technology is engineered to act like a second skin, pushing moisture to the surface and eliminating it as fast as possible
  • Range Edition liners include the extended and lower-reaching PleasureCuff™ for a cushioned, comfortable fit that keeps your calves supported
  • Tri-density V3 POPCUSH™ footbeds have an OrthoLite® open-cell foam top layer, 3D-molded anatomic shape, anti-fatigue coring and moisture-wicking Nylex topsheet
  • TPU arch support heel clips on the footbeds provide stability while allowing torsional flex; footbeds also include airflow perforations
  • BOA-specific Instep Flex Zone functions to maintain natural ankle flexion in your boot, whether in or out of your bindings
  • Waterproof/breathable valves allow one-way moisture management by moving moisture away from your feet, ensuring breathability and thermal regulation for dry, comfortable feet
  • ExoCap molded-plastic toe cap provides maximum protection and extra space in the toe box to keep your toes wiggling and warm
  • V3 Waffle SuperEnduro outsoles with All-Trac cold-weather rubber compound and a multidirectional, dynamic lug tread pattern offer max performance in and out of your bindings
  • Surface-level waffle ripple on the soles adds traction; soles also have an UltraCush Lite midsole construction with midfoot support shank and expanded impact absorption zone
  • Boots feature asymmetrical flex zones
  • Flex rating: 6–9 (on a scale of 1–10, with 1 offering the most flex and 10 being the most supportive)

Not for small feet

Got these in a 6. The length is good but the amount of extra vertical space in enormous. I can fully curl my toes. I also have a narrow heel, and at first didn't experience heel lift, but on the third wear, the padding had already packed out and my ankle was moving around significantly even with the boa and my bindings all the way tightened. The footbed for vans is extremely thick, but also extremely soft and packs out quickly and provides zero arch support. These feel like a men's cushy boot that have simply been shrunk and given a stiff outer shell. Still looking for a women's boot that is actually good for advanced smaller women.

Returned

I was really excited for these boots. The design and technical details were everything I was looking for in a new boot. Once I had them I realized that the design of the zippered cuff just wasn't going to be fun to deal with in the snow and ice if I was already having a hard time closing it with dry hands. I also should have went with my true size but went a half size smaller since they were out of my size. I don't think they would have packed out enough. My favorite boots ever were Vans. I hope I can find another pair that works for me.

my favorite boot ever

I have a really small foot so I have a hard time finding a good fit. After breaking my ankle, I was struggling to get the perfect fit. These boots are extremely warm and comfortable. Don't have any pressure points and I love that I can make them more flexible or stiffer, depending on the needs of the snow that day. Best boot I have ever purchased.

Awesome Boot

This is the 2nd pair of Vans Viaje I have owned. Safe to say it will be my go-to boot for life now. I'm thoroughly impressed at the fit and performance. With my first pair, I made the mistake of buying them a half size bigger and didn't heat mold, so when they packed out, they were a bit sloppy in the toes. This pair, I purchased my regular sneaker size and heat molded them. They fit perfectly for my foot (which is neither narrow nor wide, but with a fairly bony and defined ankle and neutral arches). Totally locked in there without pressure points or numbness. They're appropriately stiff and feel as durable as my last ones which boasted over 130 days of riding/touring. Apart from some cosmetic wear, they were still in really great shape. Super responsive and minimal foot fatigue while riding. I've used them in one tour so far. The flexible rear cuff is a sweet addition for a more natural stride while hiking. I wouldn't say these are as stiff as Vans advertises. Probably more like a 6-7 with the stiffening bars in there and brand new. It's nice to have a higher performing, reliable wonen's boot on the market. Though I can't say I was jazzed about the price point considering these will probably only last me about 2-2.5 seasons like the 2022 Viaje's.
