Couple of things. This did run big for me. I wear an xl in everything and had to size down to a L. Also it's more of a parka, if you like back coverage, you will like this. The stretch is really nice on this too, really lets you move. The hood is a good size, not to small or big and it stays in place. Good amount of pockets, which is good for my uses. The fabric has a nice hand to it also, much softer than your normal puffer. My one gripe is the hand pockets are only lined on the side facing the back of my hand. I would have like the whole pocket to be lined for when I run out without gloves. Outside of that, this jacket is a ticks a lot must haves for me.
Agree with other reviews that the shoulder tops let in a LOT of cold air. Because the down pockets are all continuous and connected, when you wash it the down can literally go from one side of the jacket to the other. Anytime I wash it (following care instructions to the letter), all the down is collected in 1-3 sides of the jacket and I have to painstakingly sift it around chamber by chamber. The shoulders and arms always lose their down to other parts of the jacket, so there’s just no insulation in these areas after you wash it. If you’re a robot who doesn’t sweat or have BO, then you can just never wash it and this won’t be an issue, but if you’re a human being like me it kinda sucks.
Quality is great and it meets my expectation. Better than any luxury brand down coat that people over pay. Love the stretch fabric and not too think and heavy but warm enough for the cold winter in NJ/NYC
I bought this jacket after thorough research and reading through the descriptions and reviews. I use it mainly for non-strenuous hikes, walks with my dog, travel, and going around and about in town. I have found it to be very comfortable, light, stretchy, warm and the design is great. It is a bit on the bulkier side when it comes to packing/storage, but you can figure out how to pack it down tight removing the air. The description is accurate. It does run large so while I normally wear a size L at 6'0, 185 lbs,I opted for the medium and it was perfect. I've worn a hoodie underneath it as well and it felt fine. I recommended sizing down from your normal size and don't use it for what it's not intended for like ice climbing or backcountry touring. I question it's durability during those activities.
I enjoy the jacket. Its warmth and size are great. However, I have the combat green, and the material shows EVERYTHING. Even in the rain, the water cause color discoloration that remains even after it dries. I wouldn’t recommend this jacket to be worn in any sort of precipitation, or anywhere where it would risk getting stained. I have washed the jacket 3 times now in accordance with the directions inside the coat - and the stains remain and even often get worse.
great big parka with tons of pockets. Two-way zip works nice with a harness and is helpful for frosty belays. Yellow Color is nice, bright but not too bright. Size is big as its meant to be layered under (fits well with my fleece hooded jacket under it) Only thing i would add would be adjustable cuffs. Casual enough to take around town too ( though size down if you are not planning on laying under it) Im a larger guy a little over 6 foot 2 and i have a large.
The Stretch down Fabric is excellent for warming up on Cold Days and durable enough to keep up with heavy use and movement. I'm never concerned about ripping seams if i'm doing arm swings or easier climbs to get warmed up. The Jacket is also very warm and perfect for long belays or rests in between tries.
unhappy with this. the hood is too small, the shoulder tops let in a lot of cold air and the double zipper always requires fumbling with them to get it to zip. I bought this because I already own the stretchdown hooded jacket and was pleased with it, but tore it. it had none of these issues.
This jacket is a true gamechanger. the material has an incredibly soft hand and the 4-way stretch provides comfort and mobility on the trail. I truly love this thing!! It's a staple in my closet.
This parka is an everyday wear for me. I have been able to wear a t-shirt underneath in 30 degree weather and feel warm. Very happy with my purchase.
