I was excited to receive the shoes. Shipping was fast, but when I opened the box, they were damaged lightly. They were not even wrapped with the white tissue that new shoes are wrapped in. It was crushed at the bottom of them. Not a big deal but for the price I think believe there should not be any damage. That damage might defeat the purpose of waterproof material. I did order a second pair and will return the first pair when I get my second pair which I hope does not arrive damaged.
I loved these boots the second I put them on- absolutely love them. Really comfortable! I had to get taller socks- but with the socks they were perfection. Well until today when the lower rivit flew across the room. The metal rivet was attached with the tiniest wimp piece of metal. I believe I have had them for under two months and wear them 3-4 times a week for 1-2 miles. I want a replacement, but I wonder how they will holdup. I really love these boots- has this issue been addressed?
These were my first pair of HOKA footwear. They felt really good in the store so I wore them the next days on a 12 mile, 2000 feet of rise trail in Western North Carolina. I don't normally wear new footwear on a long hike but these boots were incredibly comfortable and had good grip. Note that I have not tried them on wet rock or in wet conditions generally. I just wish they were not such a light colour as I know they will not stay like that. So far so good and I would recommend this product to other buyers.
There are several reviews regarding the width of these shoes. I have wide feet and I found these wide enough for me. For reference, I have the new Bondi 9 and I have have the extra wide in those and the kaha hikers worked well for my wide feet. I have neuropathy and I'm super picky about shoes and I found these comfortable after a six mile hike. Ankle support was great and did NOT dig into my ankle. I did use my own inserts instead of the ones that came with the hikers as I do with all my shoes. I can't comment on the longevity as I've only had these for a couple months. They were a great deal on clearance in store. I sized up a half size from my normal size.
I purchased these on a whim and I am in love. I picked them up with a cold climate walking trip in mind (Vienna etc.). We walked at least 10 miles a day for 7 days. They performed perfect out of the box. Zero break-in period. They kept my feet warm and dry through snow, 20 degree weather. I don’t own any Hoka shoes but if their athletic shoes are anywhere near the performance of these boots- I’m in! I’m normally a 6.5 UD size and purchased a size 6- they fit perfectly with smartwool thick sock. Amazing boot!
I do not like these boots because the boot’s tongue is too bulky and they stopped making the secure holds to keep the tongue in place. The boot is rubbing on my ankle and I wish I could return them. Plus, I paid 179.00 for this boot; now on the rack in the store they are 49.00 dollars. I am disappointed because I usually really like Hoka. In addition, the color is horrible.
Wore them 4 or 5 times for 2 mile walks and they hurt. The lace hook lines up over my ankle bone. Tried different ways of tying but no luck. Last time I order a pair of boots online.
This is my second pair of Kaha 2 gtx. The first pair was perfect out of the box. The toebox on this pair is much narrower. Hey caused blisters after 2.5 miles
