Inconsistent sizing
I wasn't sure whether size 4 or size 6 would be correct so I ordered both. I decided the size 4 waist would be uncomfortable after a meal, so I returned the size 4 and kept the 6. I decided I liked the pants well enough (although I prefer a lower rise cut) to order a second pair in size 6. The waist from the second pair in size 6 is a full inch shorter (in circumference) than the waist of the first size 6 pair. Although that's a tiny bit more ease than I remember from the size 4 pair, it's still too small to be comfortable after a meal, so I’m returning the second size 6 pair and not ordering another. I don't recommend these pants unless you can try them on in person and buy a specific pair that fits.
Runs Tight in the Waist
These pants are nice, but despite some small amount of elastic in the back, the waist is tight for many of us who are not ballet dancers. There is a large closure button and although it is a nice color, it is so big that it is hard to get it back into the buttonhole. Finaly, the legs, although straight, are pretty wide.
Perfect Fit!
I find it difficult to find pants that fit well around my waist but are not too tight in the butt/thigh area. These fit perfect! It's almost like we all have different bodies, crazy. There are some of my favorite pants. They are super cute and warm and can be dressed up or down. Thanks Patagonia :)
love these but…
Like others have said, these run a bit small. But honestly so do all Patagonia pants? In nearly all pants I’m a size 6, but in Patagonia I reliably wear an 8. I went with the 8 in these and am glad I did. I bought them on sale for about 35$, and I think that’s a good price for them. Normally they are over 100$, and while nice, frankly I have softer, 100% cotton cords that were around the same price and I like better. The outer in these is all cotton, but the liner is polyester - recycled, but still. Not great.
Great pants!
I bought these in a size 10 since they were out of stock in a size 8 and the discount was too good to pass up. The size 8 definitely would have fit me much better, but the 10 works fine! I haven't decided whether I'll try to shrink them or not since the leg length hits my ankles at exactly the right place, which is always a challenge for us ladies with longer legs (the legs do pull up slightly when I sit down but not enough to bother me) but for now they're just baggy enough to look stylish but not frumpy. The waist tapers in a flattering way that is forgiving in the hips while not giving off the impression that I'm wearing pants that are too big for me. I love the deep pockets and the organic cotton fabric is so soft and comfortable, and the color is so fun. I can tell these are going to last me a long time!
Only for the shorter bodies
Great fabric and style but tragically so very short! I'm 5'9 and these were terrible, awkward capri pants on me. So disappointing. Would be great for someone under 5'6 probably. They need a long or tall version.
Size bummer
Item doesn’t fit. Whenever I order from Rei, regardless of brand, the item label size is correct but the fit is for a child. Totally bummed again. I ordered up a size this time☹️
