I compare them to the last pair that I had which had glove liners, these do not. They did put more insulation in them but that makes them squishy and hard to hold on to your poles. However, once they get broken in, the whole season for me or 27 times skiing. The big reason for the low score is they have insulated the cuffs! What for? My wrists never get cold. What's the big deal? Well, they didn't make the cuff bigger...in fact I think they even made it smaller. But the problem is you can not get it slip over your coat sleeves very well. This is a struggle to complete when you finally get one glove on. They also took off the wrist cords on this newer version. But you can buy the new ones for another 8 bucks I found they are way more secure that the older version. That part was nice. Why not just include them? I'd give them a 4.5 if they fixed the gauntlet.
I spend 6 months of year snowmobiling and working in the cold snowy weather, and have been searching for a good pair of gloves that will last, fit well, and not break the bank. these have done their job, and i am very satisfied with my purchase.
Great gloves, warm and waterproof, length provides protection beyond wrist
When the southeast was hit with a massive storm, instead of hunkering down like most people, I hit the road, traveled to a little ski area and spent three days skiing in brutal conditions. These gloves were up to the task, keeping me warm when the wind chill hit minus25. I would like the gauntlet to be a little longer but that’s just a personal preference.
My son used them when skiing. Cheaper than competitors and did the job.
Used for 2 seasons. Dry warm and durable. Room to slip in a hand warmer when it gets that cold.
