Best For Wet Trails and Muddy Traversing In Rain
Been running and walking dogs in this model La Sportiva for going on 20yrs. They have never let me down. Sturdy, waterproof Gore tex for wet grass and rainy days. Traction and support on mud and wet grass is superb. Roots and rocks, not so much, but adequate. These fit wide enough in Mens 42 that I never need to stretch. Only caveat is less an issue with the shoe than gore-Stex itself - they're a bit heavier and retain odor more than non gore-tex shoes. Plz never stop making this model.
Sadly Too Narrow Coming From Wide Toe Boxes
Even though my size was right, the strange obsession shoe makers have with pointy shoes led me to return these. These are cool shoes, but too narrow for people who have been rolling with a wide toe box shoe like Altra or Vivo. They were a little hot, but that could have been because my feet were cramped and not necessarily from the Gortex. I did like the heel to toe drop for these, and I also liked the Vibram soles, but these just weren't comfortable for my brisk three mile walks almost right away.

I’m on my second pair of these. They aren’t the lightest or cushiest trail running shoe, but they are incredibly stable and sturdy, and do a good job keeping your feet dry (if you are out there for hours, you’ll still get wet). If you run on lots of rocky, rooty, or muddy terrain, they’re great. I’ve also used them for hiking and even backpacking and find the stability great for that as well. Great grip too
