Works but is LOUD when charging up

I bought the 1500+ on a last minute whim so I could use my CPAP (Resmed AirSense 11) while car camping. The unit works. Gives me enough juice for about 3 nice nights. Would probably be fine to charge the phone while sleeping too, but I didn’t want to chance it on the first trip and run out of power. My issue with this thing is how incredibly loud and obnoxious it is when it’s charging! While using the included wall charger to power it up, it sounds like running a vacuum the entire time. Not fun in a small apartment, unless you can leave for several hours. And the 2 to 3 hour charge time is only to get it up to 80%. It’s takes considerably longer to reach a full 100% charge. I have no idea if it would sound like this while solar charging, but if so, it would defeat the purpose of being outdoors to enjoy some peace and quiet. This is my first power bank and it works for the intended purpose, but if I’d had more time I would have shopped around a bit more. The unit’s fan also turned on about every 30 minutes the first night I tried it at home, but I didn’t notice this in the car. Not sure if it didn’t do it or I was just too tired to notice.

Saved us from a derecho!

We bought this during the pandemic for camping along with solar pannels. Our town was hit by a serious derecho a month ago and we lost power for a week. The Base Charge 1500 saved us for the first few days. I was able to make coffee--for my entire neighbor hood--for the first 3 days. I made coffee (grinder and espresso machine) and toast for a week without having to recharge. We eventually got a generator for our freezer and fridge as the power outage went on for a week, but the Biolite was absolutely the best. I was more than impressed and. as a coffee afficianado, it saved my life. I highly recommend this.

It works, but loud and long charge time for $$$

It’s so loud when charging. Why is it so loud? The fan runs the whole time on the included AC power cord and it sounds like a vacuum cleaner is going for hours. Not fun! That said, it works to power my CPAP when camping and is nice to have some peace of mind for power outages.
