Single pregnant mom managed to put the bike together easily. Ok, so I put the handle bars on upside down the first time but that's because I wasn't reading any instructions. I was happy with the assembly process. My son loved the bike. We tried it out in the neighborhood and at the local greenbelt space with hills. The bike had no problems on the street and was a blast in the off-road hills. This was my son's first mountain bike and he felt comfortable going up and down the hills on this bike. He even started to play with the suspension and shift his weight out of the saddle. The hand brakes were easy to grip and work. The shifters had no issues either for his smaller hands. I'd definitely recommend this bike and brand.
I'm a massive convert. In one day, this bike took my kid from a comfortable road rider to a highly confident mountain biker. Truly a game-changer for our little biker. Context: 6yo kid rides on roads daily, but has generally been a reluctant mountain biker. She previously rode another brand of mountain bike and it was fine, but rides often ended with whining or frequent stops. The Woom Off Air is better in all respects. We rode a ~5-mile rocky fire road on a winter day and she crushed it. This bike is ridiculously lightweight, has great components, and (like all Woom bikes) was thoughtfully designed with little riders in mind. It's easy for her to start on a rocky hill and shift with ease. The bike arrived well-packaged and padded and assembly was straight forward. Prior to using this bike, I thought front suspension for a 45lb kid was silly, but it makes a huge difference. She almost floated over these massive rocks on the trail. I originally bought her a different mountain bike because this one felt like overkill but gosh was I wrong. In literally one ride she was a different biker altogether. From my 6yo: "I love my new bike because it's golden (!!) and it has suspension so I don't have to stop or look down when I crash into a rock, I can just keep going!" From the mouths of babes folks. Really, if your kid is interested in mountain biking, you can't go wrong with this bike.Â
You will definitely get your bang for your buck with this bike. My kids absolutely love the feel of this beauty on dirt and on any bumps. Perfect size for my 6 year old (almost 7 yo) and even works for my 4 yo when you drop the seat post all the way down.
