Not durable
I bought these for an extra layer under my mittens, but the finger tips started to wear out. I would not recommend these for this reason, would recommend the Rho Gloves over these.
Comfortable, But Poor Construction
I bought 2 pairs of these just before Christmas. One for me to test out, and another for my sister. They've been comfortable, if not as warm as I was led to believe. However, after 2 weeks of moderate use, the index finger pad on the left glove has already detached. I'll be returning or exchanged these for something either more durable.
Could be better
I bought a couple of weeks ago for frequent use, the profuct got loose really quick although the first wear was snug. The fingertips for device touch is now falling off and the profuct isn’t keeping my hands as warm as I wish
Product worn out after two days of moderate use
After only two days of moderate use the glove had developed three small holes. Although the glove is warm, fits well, and works great as a liner, the quick wear on the product does not justify the price point.
Needs frequent mending
I’m a fan of Arc’teryx products, but not these gloves. They frequently develop holes that need mending. The first two holes that developed, I let the company know and they sent me a new pair of gloves . I stitched the holes in the old pair, and still use them occasionally but unfortunately both the old and the new pair still get frequent holes with minimal use . I am using them as a liner underneath my thicker ski mitts. As I write this I am about to repair three more holes, and my wife suggested writing a review. I would not recommend this product unless you don’t mind making frequent repairs
Touch screen capability doesn’t work as it should.
These are nice gloves which are light and comfortable. When it comes to operating my phone with them on, the thumb works some of the time at certain angles and the forefinger hardly ever works, which is disappointing. I have other gloves that are much thicker from the same manufacturer and they seem to work just fine. I bought these mostly because I need something as a base layer and something I can wear instead of gloves for warmer times but have to resort to taking them off to respond to texts or using Siri to talk and text which is not always available outside of network range.
Don't buy, falls apart
I really wanted to like these. Very comfortable, warm for their thickness. But like other reviewers, the quality and durability is not there. Mine had a seam rip off on the first day and a week later it's happened to every finger but two
Perfect lightweight gloves
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm surprised by the low ratings given to these gloves - for me they are perfect. They are just right for cutting out the wind and chill while hiking, when thicker gloves would make me overheat. I love the trim stretchy fit, which means that in XS size they fit my small hands perfectly without any excess material at the fingertips. They're exactly what I need for operating my camera gear in the cold. I have found them durable for everyday and hiking use while grabbing trees and rocks etc, and I have had no issue with touchscreen use. I'll be stocking up on these.
Great, but short lived
I have owned 4 pairs of Gothic (all pre the touchscreen version). I use them for running wintertime, as liners when hiking and skiing, and as liners at work offshore (in the Arctic). They are great fit, light weight and warm, but sadly they wear out too quickly, mainly the finger tips. I know this is merino wool and that the fabric will have limitations in its strength, but unlike most Arcteryx products, these are no more durable than products the quarter of the price. Will i still keep buying them? Most likely!! Because I love the fit and functionality!
Solid Product
I love these gloves for keeping my hands warm while I run. They also keep my hands cool as my body heats up in long runs. I have had no luck with sensors on the thumb and forefinger to enable use of my iPhone. This is a little frustrating when I am trying navigate through my phone before, during and after my runs. I bought both the Gothic Glove and the RHO Glove and I found that both gloves had a very difficult with navigating my phone. Originally i bought a size large glove and though this might have been the issue so i ordered a medium and had no better luck. All in all, this is a nice glove but I personally have had no luck wearing these gloves and using my phone. But when it comes to protecting my hands they work very well.
