Great product!!

Extremely well made product. I have multiple wool shirts from several different companies. Smartwool and Icebreaker have become my 2 favorites. Their shirts are high quality, true to size, soft, comfortable and…it’s wool! Love my wool clothing.

My Kid’s Nose Confirmed It: Zero Odor

I got hooked on merino wool socks and apparently that is a gateway drug, because here I am reviewing a merino wool t-shirt. My concern was simple: I had a drawer full of perfectly good synthetic moisture wicking workout shirts that cost a fraction of this. Was I really going to spend this much on a t-shirt? The answer, it turns out, is yes. And I would do it again. The first thing you notice is how incredibly soft it is. The bright blue color does not hurt either. But the real test came this weekend on a 6.3 mile Appalachian Trail hike with serious elevation, a 20 pound pack on my back, 85 degree sunshine, and the kind of sustained effort that turns a person into a walking sprinkler. After a mile long ascent at 15% incline I was sweating through this shirt everywhere it touched my skin. And yet my temperature felt exactly right the whole time. That is the merino magic. It wicks, it breathes, and somehow it keeps you comfortable in conditions where you have no business being comfortable. The real party trick revealed itself that night. I got home, laid the shirt on the floor to dry, and checked it the next morning fully expecting the usual post-workout aroma situation. Nothing. Zero odor. I did what any reasonable parent does in this situation and put it directly in my kid’s face for an official second opinion. She was not thrilled, but she confirmed it. No smell. The shirt did have a satisfying salty sweat pattern dried into it like a topographic map, but one wash and it came out looking brand new. One small caveat: the sizing runs slightly small. I am normally a medium and the shirt fit, but it was snugger than a typical workout shirt. Not uncomfortable, just worth knowing before you order. I am already planning to buy a second one (size large) for a nine day backpacking trip this summer where showers will not be part of the itinerary. My fellow hikers have no idea how much they owe this shirt for preventing odor. Let me know if you want any changes!
