Rain Jacket for Ultra/Trail Runs
Needed a rain jacket to handle strong winds with a lot of rain. Love it, I’ve used it for a few of my long runs (3+ hour runs) in the rain and wind (gusts to 30+mph) and it held up beautifully. I was warm and comfortable (as much as you can be) the whole time. The jacket didn’t feel restrictive in my movements, and I wore my hydration pack over it. And it felt breathable to me. The hood was perfect, tight enough to stay on, but not so tight that it felt restrictive. Overall, would recommend for strong winds or light to downpour rainy conditions.
Not Waterproof
Bought this jacket for the higher than market price for its “waterproof” claim. Many jackets in the market as water resistant but limited market for water proof. Wore it for my run under regular rain (not pouring rain), I was completely soaked with rain in my tshirt. This jacket is NOT WATERPROOF. best to buy much cheaper water resistant instead of this expensive jacket. I also just bought a pair of Salomon trail running shoes but plan on returning them as I don’t believe in the tech properties of gear this brand is promising
Pretty, lightweight jacket
An initial review, as I haven’t worn in the rain yet: the berry color is beautiful in person. The jacket is incredibly lightweight. I like how the hood is designed. Cons: I’m typically a true size small (size 34A bra) and the small in this jacket leaves little room for layering. I also really wish it was longer (why are women’s rain jackets always so short?!) I’m 5’5” and this hits right at my hips.
Manteau non adapté aux activités sportives
Voici une version reformulée pour exprimer vos idées avec plus de fluidité et de précision : “J’ai acheté ce manteau spécialement pour la course, mais malheureusement, il ne permet pas une bonne évacuation de la transpiration, ce qui fait que les vêtements en dessous deviennent rapidement mouillés. Je l’ai également testé lors d’une randonnée par temps pluvieux, et il s’est avéré tout aussi peu respirant pendant l’effort. Très déçue, surtout compte tenu du prix élevé .
Good jacket
Pros: I like the light weight, slim fit which is true to size, three storage pockets, water proof, and color. Cons: I do not find this to be breathable, I sweat in this jacket. The like the pockets, but the zipper pulls are so small they get stuck inside the material. I also, do not like the crunchy sound that the fabric makes. Overall I rate it good, not very good or excellent.
Lightweight & completely waterproof
Went out in this when the rain was bucketing down and it is completely waterproof. It’s a nice cream colour, looks really stylish and is very lightweight and folds down to a paperback size. The hood is amazing: fits snuggly round one’s face with the elastic and has a cap front to prevent face drenching. Wish it came with its own bag to pack it into.
Go to Rain Jacket
I purchased the Bonatti Waterproof jacket in green for men and it quickly became my "Go To" Rain Jacket. I purchased this one in blue for my wife before our trip to Italy. It was a torrential downpour in Venice upon our arrival. We got lost in the winding streets of Venice for more than an hour. This jacket kept me totally dry.
Good running waterproof
This is the third Bonatti waterproof I have bought over the years. It keeps the rain out very well, but I find that perspiration builds up inside the jacket sleeves when I am running. The hood design has been changed slightly this time, and it drops forward a bit too far over my eyes. I preferred the previous hood.
A MUST HAVE
This jacket is on my mandatory packing list for any serious adventure where it might rain or snow. I’ve used it for the Moab 240 and a snowy R3. It’s quite literally a life saver. Solomon also fixed the one thing I wished for in my old version => they added pockets.
Great jacket!
Bought this jacket to pack for trail runs. Compact. Packs easily in any run vest. Comes in handy for those sudden mountain rain storms.
