Good value goggles at the price point
I really like the tighter fit on these compared to larger goggles. They work well for smaller heads and with helmets, even if you have a larger head. Pity it's not an OTG though otherwise I could have work it with my prescription glasses underneath. The contrast rose flash lens with 50% light transmission is great for cloudy days and a great addition if you already have goggles designed for less light transmission that you're already using on sunnier days. Good construction for the price. Impressive overall execution at a price that does not break the bank. Did not have any issues with fogging but did find that it was not as light as I would have liked.
So light and comfortable I forget I’m wearing them
Love them! Comfortable fit and great visibility Appreciate how the smaller frame fits the bridge of my nose and side of my face. High performance details: grip surface of the strap, peripheral vision, great breathability of the vents. I was worried that the all black would look too “bro” but the lenses and size of frame dial that back. Reflexive lens is sort of an amber medium tone and Smith quality that works on sunny days as well as overcast ones. I included photos without my helmet to show the fit.
Comfy and breathable
Very breathable, but flimsy. The goggles are very comfortable against the face with soft multiple layers of foam. The straps are wide and tacky, holding well to the helmet. The wide-open vents keep fog at bay very well and let in a little cool air, which is very much needed in sunny California. Be aware that the gaps will also let in snowflakes if there is a sizeable gap between goggle and helmet. The lenses are much more transparent than they appear online, so are ideally suited for a grey day or 'normal use'. They might not be the best choice for super sun exposure. Lastly, they are very bendy and I worry about their durability over time. The whole goggle flexes quite a bit and feel especially vulnerable to scratches. I'll definitely be using the sac as much as possible. We'll see how they last!
Lightweight and clear vision
We got the Loam S (small) goggles for our boys (7-11) and they fit them great. The goggles came well-packaged, with a cleaning bag and an extra clear lens. The strap is easy to adjust and the frames and lenses are very lightweight, so the boys had no complaints. I like the extra airy vents around the frame that breathe well and are very soft and absorbent of impacts, so they don't leave lines around their eyes. Ours came with the contrast Rose lenses which are great for trail rides, and the extra clear lens is good for low light rides. Only complaint is that changing the lenses is a little fiddly but they are secure once in place. Now we've got to get pairs for all of them!
Glare and fit issues
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. The optics of these goggles are pretty good in low/flat light. They're clear and show shadow contrast well on lush trails. They tend to fog up a bit when going uphill or stopping, but clear well on fast downhills. The goggles come with an extra lense for low light days. Only issue is that when you ride into the sun, there is zero glare mitigation and you're blinded instantly with a strong horizontal glare across the whole field of view. The fit itself is good for small/narrow faces, but the foam is uniform around the whole google, and should be narrower at the nose, so the goggle rides too high. I had to trim some of the nose foam for it to sit right. The strap is adjustable and sits well over Enduro helmets. Goes over the ears a bit though, which isn't amazing but comes with the territory of goggles. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this product due to the fit needing modifications to be comfortable, plus the terrible glare riding into the sun.
Great light-weight googles!
These are some great light-weight googles! Instantly after wearing them I could feel how light-weight and comfortable they are and compatible with my non-Smith helmet. No extra strain on my nose either. The silicone backstrap were amazing to keep my googles in place even on the roughest terrain while riding. On the trail, I was able to view all the details with these wide field view lens without having to make extra neck movements. Great for trail or downhill rides!
Overall, a very nice MTB goggle.
I received these goggles free in return for my honest feedback. These goggles seem basic out of the box, but it doesn't take long to realize that they are feature rich. When paired with the Smith Mainline helmet, the fit is seamless and very comfortable. Ample ventilation means no fogging of the lenses. The small fit means they don't rest as far down on the nose, which I prefer, without sacrificing any loss of field of vision. Overall, a very nice MTB goggle.
Protective and comfortable goggles
Goggles fit nicely and are very comfortable. The airflow built in around the goggles is very nice to keep the face cool and circulated. Getting thick strap in comfortable spot around ears when putting helmet on was a bit difficult. Goggles stay on , don’t get too sweaty when going for a long ride.
Product works great and provides clear vision.
Product works great and provides clear vision. A little oversize for small faces but after wearing for a few rides the wins are clear. Adapted well to half helmet with a little adjusting. Excellent value for the price.
