Long time trail runner, I've had / have running vests from Salomon, Ultraspire, Black Diamond, Orangemud, and Nathan; so i was fascinated with the idea of this vest and eager to try it out. PROS- 1) front storage pocket makes it easy to access your stuff. 2) when you get it fully adjusted and tight, very minimal bounce. 3) pockets for front flasks are big enough to hold many different brands of flasks. CONS -1) you have to really get it tight to eliminate bounce if your 2 front water bottles are full. Then it almost feels restricted. At the same time, i was fully aware of my phone in the front middle pocket as I could feel it pressed in against my diaphragm. 2) With the pocket arrangements, the vest felt too front heavy and out of balance. While running I'd reach back and pull down on the rear bottom edge of the vest to adjust and experiment with getting it to 'feel right'. I should have packed something in the back to help. 3) the attachment points for trekking poles aren't just an elastic loop, they also have a hook. I found it easy to fumble with the tension while stowing the poles and accidentally unclip the poles. 4) As you wear it, there's a pocket on the left side (next to the zipper pocket) that has a odd very small opening, I can only stick 2 fingers in there. This morning I was prepping my gear for a run and realized if I put a gel in there, I wouldn't be able to get it out. Seems like an after-thought by the team designing this vest. Unsure if I'll keep this or return it. But for an upcoming ultra, I will not be using this vest.
I really like the design, but the only default and bad thing about it is the zipper on the side. It keeps going down when running I'm very disappointed! was very happy at first, but then with running with it became really frustrated during my run.
