Allbirds fit true to size for most customers. If you have wide feet or prefer a roomier fit to accommodate toe splay, we suggest sizing up. If you are in between sizes we recommend sizing up for all styles except for Tree Runner styles (size down for those).

Nice, light weight shoes with lots of cushion!
These are nice, light weight, soft shoes with lots of cushion. This was my first time wearing Allbirds and I can see why people love them! These shoes almost feel like slippers but with more support and durability. For being as light weight as they are the soles still provide some nice support and don’t feel too flimsy/foamy. The toe box is the perfect size for me, not too narrow and tight or too wide and roomy. I also really appreciate the fact that there are very few seams in the shoe fabric- I don’t feel any hot spots when I’m wearing these and the stretchy fabric makes it feel a bit like your feet are getting a gentle hug. The fabric is light weight enough that my feet can breathe and don’t get clammy wearing them. I like wearing these for days when I’m doing errands or walking around town, but, for me, they do not have enough support for longer walks, light hiking, or running. The sole of the shoe is pretty supportive, but the heel cup is quite low around the ankles, so the shoe does not provide as much ankle or arch support as most running shoes. I would happily have the shoes weigh just a little bit more for a bit more ankle and arch support, but as is they work just fine for days around town!
Classic look, supportive, and comfortable
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. They look great! Stylish and sporty. Not flashy. My first wear was without socks, and they were very comfortable. Then I wore them a coupon times with socks, and they were also comfortable. They’re my new go-to every day shoes!
Overall a great everyday shoe
Overall, this is a great shoe! The footbed is comfy, the upper fits like a glove, and the tongue stays in place. I've been wearing them for dog walking, errands, etc. and they are easy to throw on with any outfit because they are so neutral. The only thing about them that I would change is I feel the heel cup is a little short. I would like it to come up a little higher as I have to tie the shoe kind of tight to ensure my heels stay in place. This is a not a dealbreaker, I will definitely keep wearing them! Just feedback for future versions :)
They're okay
These shoes were pretty comfortable right out of the box. I’m between an 8.5 and 9 and ordered the 9 based on the size chart and I’m glad I did because they fit comfortably in terms of size. I tried them with different styles of socks and it seems like the most comfortable option is either a thinner crew sock or no socks. The padding on the heel rubbed too much with ankle socks and some thicker socks I tried but was not bad with crew socks or no socks. The support in the shoes is pretty good. I walked a half mile right after I got them and had no complaints. It seems like a lot of the sole cushioning is in the direct center of the shoe which took a bit to get used to but I like them after wearing them for a few weeks. The exterior seems sturdy and like it would be easy to clean if they got dirty, though having the black colorway could contribute to that. Overall they’re comfy and pretty breathable and are a great walking shoe if they fit you properly.
Comfort and style!
I really wish these had a wide width option! If you have a narrow foot, these are true to size. Normally, I have to size up with non wide width shoes in order to comfortably fit my wide feet. Unfortunately, they slightly slip off from the heel. That said, they are very comfortable and are great for those days when you’ll be walking around all day at work or on vacation. If you have a narrow foot or are not a 1/2 size, these will be perfect on you!
I like them!
I used to have the original version and I noticed a big improvement with this model. The soles of my feet and arch feel a lot more supported, more padding underneath, and more padding to not get friction behind your heel. I also like the subtle pattern on the toe box so it’s not all the same fabric look. I’ve been wearing them to work every day and I’m on my feet and had no need to break them in.
Light as air, comfortable
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. I was so excited to finally get a pair of Allbirds & these shoes didn’t disappoint! The shoes are very light & breathable (even in the unbearable Texas heat). There is plenty of cushion throughout the footbed, & in the heel tab so there was no uncomfortable rubbing on my ankle. I spent hours walking every day & didn’t experience any discomfort at the end of the day. The toe box was roomy & the width was slightly wider than average. I did notice the shoes were a tad on the smaller side. I normally wear an 8.5 in every shoe but had to go up to a size 9. These are now my go-to sneakers!
Super comfortable, soft, and easy to wear
I've been wanting to try a pair of allbirds for the longest time, I had always heard they were super soft and really comfortable. ALL that is true! They are super soft and super comfortable. It didn't take any time to break them in, I wore them without socks for a 20 minute walk around the neighborhood and there was no rubbing anywhere. The back of the show felt low and like it might slip off but didn't have that problem at all. Where I live is hot and humid and my feet didn't feel sweaty in them either, which was super nice. One thing I'm not sure I'm a fan of is the aesthetics of the shoe. Maybe in a lighter color it would be different, but with a black top and white sole, it almost looks a bit orthopedic. However, what I did like is that you couldn't see my toes poking through the fabric like you can with some other allbirds shoes. :) Caveaet, I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review.
Comfortable walking shoes
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. I’ve been wanting to try a pair of all birds. These are great feeling shoes. Very comfortable and light weight. I’m using them for walking primarily, and they seem to keep my feet cool now that the weather has warmed up. They came laced in a weird way that was hard to adjust but I swapped that around and it’s fine. They do seem a little bit small fit compared to my normal size but not uncomfortably small, just a little more snug than I expected. They look sleek too (mine got some baby powder on them so they’re not bright black anymore!).
Replaced other shoes as my all day travel shoe!
Alright friends, let me tell you, these shoes are ALMOST a perfect 5. Before I tell you where these fell short for me, let me tell you about the things I love! To test shoes, I first take my dog on a short walk around the block: my feet can be very sensitive to a shoe that doesn’t fit it properly. My short walk turned into a long walk, which turned into a short run, which turned into wearing these shoes all day, to the most extreme requirement for comfort… using these shoes as airport/travel shoes! These shoes are mega comfy. The insoles that are in the shoe provide cushion and gives me a feeling of walking on soft moss in the woods, but make it dry! My foot feels supported and lands soft with each step! Another thing I love about these Allbirds is how easy and quick they are to get in and out of. This was a critical factor for me when traveling as airport security can be less than fun when wearing shoes that are tough to get in and out of! The other thing I was thoroughly impressed with is the breathability of the shoe upper. While the insoles are very warm, the upper allows my feet to stay cool despite being in the shoes all day, moving around new cities and airports! Truly, I love these shoes. There are two reasons for myself that these aren’t a perfect 5, and this is super nit-picky, but these reasons do hinder my love of the shoes enough to highlight. First, the shoe laces are thick and I sometimes struggled to keep the shoes tied, and for someone who may have a finger dexterity challenge, adjusting the laces may be frustrating. Finally, the heel cup is lined with a neoprene-like material, which started to pill and at first, was too slipper for my heels, so my feet would slip out a bit. Without a way to lace the shoes up higher, I didn’t find a great solution to the slipping, but with time as the heel cup material began to pill and the insoles molded more to the natural shape of my specific feet, the shoes stayed on my feet more securely.
