Change for the sake of change
These used to be amazing shorts. I owned 3 pairs of the original rendition. Then someone at Janji had the bright idea to change the liner material, the liner thickness, the waistband, the pockets, the length of the outer shorts, the stretchiness of the waistband cinch, and completely ruined an almost perfect pair of shorts. I tried them on in store and thought they were what I had worn before, albeit a little different, but when I got them home and got ready for a trail run, I quickly realized how different they are. Back they go.
I have an older pair and got these hoping they would have improved some things, but they have not. My biggest issue is the liner. It's kind of a rough fabric in the crotch area and there is a seam right down the middle, so I always have to wear underwear which defeats the purpose of the liner. In my older pair the phone pocket stretched out after a year or two. I have super cheap Amazon liners that have held up much better with way more use. Otherwise all the pockets are nice. Even on sale kind of pricey for the quality though.
My favorite running short
These are my favorite short to run in. Lightweight, streamlined design (no big pockets/zippers), and best of all the handy phone sleeve on the thigh for a secure hold while running.
Favorite Trail Shorts
I bought a pair of these to try, and then bought two more pairs. For long runs, trail runs and even shorter hikes, these shorts are perfect. The compression liner helps mitigate muscle fatigue, the cell phone pockets for a large phone and wallet, the key holder holds a large set of keys, and the additional waistband pockets hold Gu, salt tabs, even a thin running jacket or shirt. I have tried to find a good alternative since these are pretty pricey but you get what you pay for and so far nothing even comes close. I plan on buying more of these soon.
Best Running shorts
one of the best running shorts...2 in 1, i love the compression and has lots of pockets for your phone, gels, and keys. great quality and fit is great. GQ rated these as one of the best shorts and it surely is~!!!
Excellent short!
Bought this a few weeks ago online after seeing some hype for it on Instagram. Lives up to the hype! Tons and tons of pockets for storage. Worked well for my 50k the other week.
Great distance and trail shorts
Awesome shorts. Well thought out pockets for phone, keys, gels, etc. Good fit and stays cool.
I dont think buying these janji is a good idea
Expensive and feel cheaply made, the fit is strange, i doubt the elastic would last two months
