A perfect glove, redesigned and ruined. I've been wearing the Pearl Izumi gel gloves in a variety of styles for over 12 years and considered them the best of best. Tight ergonomic fit, durable, nice fabrics, well sewn. I bought these last week to repair my beloved last pair that were ready to retire and am so sad to discover that they redesigned them for the worse. The thumb fabric is oddly shaped and floppy, no good for handling your phone, device, anything, really. The seams have a few spots that poke into your skin, I was sure there was a piece of packaging plastic stuck in there, but it's just poor manufacturing. Sad.
The Gel padding is hard and uncomfortable. It felt like river stones in my gloves. I turned them for a full refund.
Gloves are warm for cool weather riding but the finger is NOT touch screen sensitive. Have to remove glove anytime I need to use touchscreen on my Garmin or iPhone. The clasp part of the glove keeps popping back onto the velcro making it a pain to remove or put it back on,.
Gloves run a little on the big side Using their size chart I was a large. Used them once and threw them in the trash. The Palm pad moved around and created a wrinkle that rubbed my palms raw. It was during a 6 hour ride. About 4 hours in I had to take them off very painful. I would not recommend these gloves 👎
Gloves are well-made with no velcro wrist closure. The gel pad is not very soft though.
