No odor, soft and comfy

Bought this shirt for outdoor activities. Wore it on a kayaking trip and ended up swimming in it for some extra sun protection. It dried super quickly and never developed any odor. Ended up wearing it for the next three days straight since it was so comfy. When wet, it did stretch out a bit, but it is a slightly loose fit to begin with. Fibers are super soft. I'll probably pick up another before the next backpacking trip!

Not As Good As Merino Wool

I was disappointed with this alpaca wool t-shirt. It claimed to be superior to merino wool in many ways so I decided to give it a try. It was the first time I had ever heard of alpaca wool claiming to be superior to merino wool. It was not. I own several merino wool t-shirts and base layers, and find this alpaca wool to be significantly more itchy than my merino wool products. And the moisture wicking of merino wool seems at least on par with, if not better than, this alpaca wool. I bought the Natural White color and it was more yellow looking than in the product photos. I also find the 160 wool to be significantly thicker than 150 -- thick enough that I definitely prefer 150 to 160. I wouldn't recommend 160 wool for the summer, especially if you tend to run hot.

My go-to undershirt

I tried this shirt as a wool alternative to those cotton undershirts and absolutely love it. I was used to Alpaca wool and washed it before wearing as it’s not itchy after a couple washes. You can wear this several days without washing if you hang it up between uses. I love it so much that I got the long sleeve version for winter. A medium fit true to size for both.

This is just a great shirt

I’m an alpaca fan and it’s incredible difficult to find quality alpaca clothing now that the fiber is having its moment. This shirt has a beautiful texture, is soft and lightweight while somehow also substantial enough to not be sheer in this light color. I’d happily own the same item in several colors if available, as well as a long-sleeved version.

Itchy and Loose Fit

I love the concept of 100% alpaca as I'm a very big alpaca fiber fan, but this shirt is very itchy. Although I really liked the athletic fit when I first tried the shirt on the shirt, the fit and neck have loosened/stretched out after a couple weeks of use. The neck is almost like a v-neck because it's now so loose and big.

don’t believe the bad reviews.

Initially I was concerned with the low reviews, but after wearing these shirts night and day for months I can confirm they are the best around. They can be slightly itchy for the first couple uses but you will quickly get used to it. They seem to assimilate with your skin in a breathable way that is vastly superior to other wool fabrics. They are much more hydrophobic than merino which enables them to avoid odors and bacterial growth for much longer while increasing breathability comparatively (check out the research highlighted by backpacking light .com). Don’t get me wrong, I love merino, but alpaca is a league above. The T-shirts fit a little smaller than the long sleeve, and sometimes the colors dye my skin slightly when they are new (the blue), but it is a small price to pay. If there was only one brand I would wear for the rest of my life this would be it.
