The poor quality of this and the other items I bought in 2024 have made me lose all confidence in the mountain hardware brand. They fall apart after 4 washes and a month wearing them in a house. These products are totally unusable for any outdoor activity. The beltloops fell off the first week I wore them and stitching started falling out after two washes. Mountain hardware pants I bought 5 years ago and used extensively are in like new condition still. Whoever is making them for Mountain hardware now has systemic quality issues that have made me stop buying this brand.
Terrible pants. Low quality stitching that falls apart after first use. Mountain hardware doesn’t stand behind their products either.
The Hardwear AP line has been my favorite pants since it was introduced years ago. I own 3 pairs of the regular AP pant which has become my daily pants instead of jeans. I use the AP active pants for climbing and hiking and I appreciate the shorter cut and the material is great for being outside all day. I did notice that the AP Active pant material is a bit of a softer nylon/polyester compared to the old AP pants. It’s very comfortable but I worry about durability. I’ve been using them at the climbing gym and outside for the last 5 months, so far so good. I hope Mountain Hardwear doesn’t change the design and fit of these. They are awesome.
These pants feel great and can be used indoors and outdoors. It has UPF 50 built-in which I great for protection of your skin. The stretch in the pants allow great flexibility for movement. The only concern is how they will last, the stitching is coming out with about month of wear.
Absolute garbage quality in construction. Threads came out literally the first day of use, light use. Junk!
The button-fly waist ran about 1 inch big (my waist measures 32 inches, the 32 were too big and the 30 too small). The 30's were tight in the crotch and the leg length was about 1 inch too short for me (I measure 32W x 32L, 5 foot 10 inch tall and 145 #). The 30W x 32L weighed 12.0 oz, about middle of the road of the 6 different brands I tried. Pockets: 2 unzippered front and 2 zippered in back. All are relatively shallow. Overall ok, not impressive; if you can find a good fit, this might be a good value at the price it's being offered for on the Outlet.
I’ve purchased 3 pairs. The first I thought was a fluke so I returned them for another pair. Super disappointed in how these are wearing but it hard to find outdoor pants that actually fit without alterations. Got a great deal on them through a parter so thought I would give the “updated” version a shot but nope; Even worse. The newer version is 3 inches longer than the prior and not anywhere near at slim. Steer clear of these pants at all costs. You’ll be disappointed and MH does nothing to actually take feedback and make something better.
Nice light all day pant. Its a perfect size for me and I like the color. The knee gussets + stretchy material allow easy bending and movement. Pockets are well laid out and regular size. One small gripe is that material could be a bit softer to touch at least on the inside.
Great quality stretch fabric pants for hiking and traveling. Apparently I've got short legs and these are the only 29 in length that I can actually wear without hemming. Now I have about six of these in various colors and some for back-up. Comfortable and quality stitching with adequate pockets. The two back ones are zippered and there's a pocket for a phone on the right thigh.
These pants are some of the most comfortable and flexible pants I have owned, however after wearing them for 4 or 5 days, and a 3 day weekend hike, they are starting to pile and have developed snags in the knees. I will absolutely continue to wear them, but they have already been relegated to a field pant, unfortunately.
