I purchased a pair of these for a few treks this spring and summer. There is a break in for sure but after the 2nd day hike these are softening in all the right areas. Easy to wash off as well and when cleaning you can see a distinct water barrier on the outside of the boot. The grip is great in the snow, mud, ice, and on wet rock. I swapped the insoles for thicker Spenco sport insoles and 1/2 sized up on the boot fit and it was perfect. These boots feel like they’re going to be supportive and comfortable for long days carrying a pack in the backcountry.
