Great design. No durability.

Shoes are comfortable. They fit well. I have done several short hikes in the shoes. No rocks between the sandals and my feet. I really like the shoes, but I can't recommend them. The low rating is for the sole. The traction is good but after less than 2 months of wear and the sole on both shoes has almost worn through. If they fix the soles, they will be a great shoe.

Questionable or inconsistent quality

Tongue frayed within the first week or wearing the shoes. The strands now get caught in the Velcro system in the back. I am a fan of Hoka but this was disappointing given the price paid.

poor quality

The loops/ straps son the heal began fraying and falling apart after only a few time of wearing them. Within two weeks of purchasing they began to come apart. I assumed HOKAS would have better quality. I had to return these sandals and won’t buy them again. I have always purchased Keen sandals and they are much better quality.

Low durability, high comfort.

Bought these to wear on hikes with lots of water crossings and warm weather fishing trips. Shoe was very comfortable and more stable than competitors similar models, despite not being a “stability” shoe. Soles had incredible grip on wet rocks (seriously best grip outside of felt bottoms I’ve experienced). Pull loops on the back broke almost immediately, as others have mentioned. Mesh design helps keep large rocks out, but sand still accumulates under your foot and, due to the design, is more difficult to wash out than other brands (without removing the shoe). Put about 50 miles on them and the tread has significantly degraded and has several large gouges. Anyone familiar with Hokas knows that is normal. Overall I prefer them over keens but they’re not perfect.

Poor Quality-Fraying

These Sandals are not very good quality. The back straps/loops began to fray and fall apart after only two weeks of owning them and about 5 times of wearing them.

Just when you wish there was a better return polic

These are an embarrassment to the hoka brand. I have several of their products and these are a 3rd cousin to those. Little support, sizing is wrong (small) workmanship is not good, do not buy these. Keen fit much better

Hopara 2

Stumbled across these while looking at Keens. Perfect for my foot shape, with surprising amount of toe room. I wear the stinson and gaviota, and these are similar in shape. Have only walked around the neighborhood for 5 or so miles I can't attest to long term durability but so far they are extremely comfortable and I am very happy with my purchase!

one shoe support

If you have one less shoe support, you are likely to send me someone else's return.

comfortable, I can use these without orthotics

I was looking for a replacement for Hoka Hopara 1, I have worn out the soles on two of these. I was pleasantly surprised that the Hopara 2 is just as comfortable. Just a slight redesign of the upper and great addition is an adjustable strap on the heal.
