Bag could use some tweaks
I love the extra room for the bottles on the side I was able to fit a large Smart water size bottle in random small things that you can’t do with the og kanken. The bottom zipper compartment is separate and couldn’t even hold my Birkenstock Sanford (I wear a size 7.5 womens). I recently took the bag on 4 flights (2 flights to and from Mexico) it was difficult to get my iPad out of the inner pocket. I wish it came with a separate laptop compartment and many a secret side pocket for like a phone and/or a wallet. I also couldn’t fit much into the front pocket besides some disinfectant and hand wipes. Overall it’s a sturdy backpack, but for the price I can’t justify it. I still like it for work and it fits my work laptop. But I wouldn’t call this the end all be all for my backpack needs. Also have used it as a diaper bag formula for quick day trips to the zoo or park with a 15 month old and for that I do love the bag but didn’t see use for the bottom compartment. The bottom compartment also feeds into the space inside the bag and creates like a bubble shape at the bottom? It’s not a flat bottom compartment is what I’m trying to convey.
Sturdy homeschooling mom bag
I got this bag to carry around my Bible, journals, laptop and homeschooling supplies. It’s cute and feels sturdy. I somehow expected it to be bigger but I think it will workout for my needs. I like that it is pvc free since I’m trying to find more eco friendly products. It feels good on my back, I’m 5”2 and 111lbs.
Great for everyday and day trips!!
I love this bag for day trips and love the side water bottle pockets! It’s the best of both worlds! I have the original Kanken and love it but this is better! The interior zipper pocket is a great addition and the bottom zipper pocket holds my emergency extras!
Perfect backpack for the on-the-go traveler
Purchased this as my new travel work backpack and I love it so much! The Outlong is Fjallraven’s best attempt at upgrading the iconic Kanken. It has every feature you’ve ever wanted from the original bag. The two water bottle pockets fit everything from bottles to wipes, the bottom pocket is a perfect for storing your jacket or spare shoes, and the laptop pocket with pad is perfect for my work laptop. It also has a chest strap with safety whistle, large handles, and repels most minor stains. My only gripe is that it doesn’t come in enough colors yet! I purchased the Ochre and love it but I can’t wait for them to release more colors in this style!
Great weekend/vacation backpack
We have 4 children and go to amusement parks and sporting events a lot. We’ve been looking for a backpack that can hold all of the necessities while also keeping them accessible all without breaking our backs. It probably seems ridiculous but it can be frustrating when you need to dig through a massive black hole of stuff to find the sun screen. Or there are three thousand pockets that only fit the smallest of things. This pack is perfect. It could easily fit a first aid kit, sunscreen, snacks, ponchos, extra socks, etc with two drink pockets on the side(!) there’s a pouch on the front for car keys, chapstick, and wallets. And there’s a zipper pocket inside for little things (paper tickets, valuables, etc). It has padded straps and a chest strap. This pack checks all of the boxes and I think we’ve finally found the perfect weekend/vacation backpack.
Spacious and stylish
I'm super happy with this backpack purchase. I needed something to take along on day trips with my family (which includes a small child and a medium dog), anything from the zoo, the beach, or a hike. I especially love the generous water bottle pouches, which fit both my 40oz hydroflask and my dog's 32oz Nalgene. The main interior is super spacious and so far has fit everything I've needed. The only drawback for me is that I wish the front pouch was bigger. Otherwise, a really great and stylish backpack that I expect to have for years to come.
Great bag
I bought the bag 6 months ago and I am happy I did. It is very useful for day to day and for trips as well. It is very sturdy. I carry 2 laptops, power banks and other devices they are usually are pretty heavy, but the bag is comfortable and I don’t feel them as heavy as with my previous bag. It is very easy to clean as well. Also, I don’t know how but it looks not very big, but you can put a lot of stuff inside of it. Once I had the contents of carry on in that bag. My previous bag couldn’t carry as much.
Good
I bought this as a small bag to carry around essentials while teaching clinicals to a group of nursing students in the hospital. It holds everything I need it to hold: my wallet & personal items in one side & my blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, pen light, and pens in the other side. I just wish it worked easier as a should bag and not just a waist pouch.
Great features!
I was eyeing this for the longest time! And i love it! It has the perfext amount of space for going about day trips. I find the two bottle holders so convenient and the bottom portion for keeping a spare birkenstock. The handles are also nice and big. Goes superbly well with the Kanken weekender bag. Would highly recommend.
Great for commuting
I got this in ochre for my commute to the office, as my classic Kånken was a little too small for my needs. I am so glad I did. I love the side pockets and am using one for my umbrella and the other for a water bottle. The bottom zippered compartment is a nice touch as well. Highly recommend this backpack!
