Didn't Age Well
I hate writing reviews. But I'm so annoyed at these right now that I had to get this on record. Starting out, these socks are amazing. The fabric feels excellent and is quick to dry. Unfortunately as the socks wear, it becomes very obvious that the body of the sock is constructed differently or of different fabric than the toe. As a result, while you wear them, the toe compresses pulling down the entire down the entire sock off your foot and bunching up in your shoe. You're stuck pulling them up all day. Got two pairs of these and they both fit the same.
A great sock!
I burn through socks trail running but so far these are doing super well after a season in my rotation. Usually I put a hole under the toes or near the big toe nail but so far nothing. I'm seeing a little separation where the pieces all come together near the ankle bone but it's not growing at all so I think it may have just been a loose thread. I like the 3/4 length a lot and can't believe I hadn't tried that before. Less stuff in the socks and more protection above the ankle! The wool seems to hold the foot well and doesn't slip around in a shoe. These also seem to not hold too much water when wet.
Great Sock but Fit is Off
[Employee of arcteryx] Small feet beware - these socks are amazing but even with the small size the heel will be at your ankle (see photo). I still wear them as it's the story of my life having small feet but having the extra fabric around your ankle is not ideal. I wear a size 6.5 US women's shoe.
Pleasantly surpised!
[Employee of arcteryx] Thought I wasn't going to like these as much as I do. Used to wearing Smartwool and Darntough. These are kind of the "sportier" sock. They have good stretch and don't bunch up like other wool hiking socks I have. Really like them!
Warm and comfortable but..
Loved these socks I wore them while doing the EBC trek in Nepal the only problem I had was how they looked after I wore them once. They pilled really badly which is too bad because they were one of my favourite pairs I purchased for this trek.
Great product nice fit
Perfect for work all day long great fit. Very good product i want only this product in my closet!!
I like it because it fits my foot size well and is
Warm and beautifully designed socks
A cut above!
I have chronic Edema in my feet, and these are one of only two brands of socks that work to keep my sweeling under control. For the rest of you, these could be wonderful socks for plane trips. And of course, they work great for their intended purpose: Hiking and other outdoor activities.
Up to Arc standards
Bought these to replace my ibex 3/4 crews. Very soft and live up to the brand quality. I wanted something without a lot of bulk or padding. These will be a great 3 season sock for hiking with light padding under foot. I also wear mine as dress socks. I am a size 9 but got the medium because I don't like a lot of extra fabric and they are perfect. I would probably prefer a more understated logo but that's personal preference.
Thoughtful touches
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The patterns throughout the sock are woven in a way that promotes moderate cushioning but also structural integrity. The materials are nice, but just be sure to note that (as the product name would suggest) these are more of a lightweight active use sock rather than a heavy duty/frigid winter sock. I ordered a medium as the sizing guide suggested, and I'd say the sizing guide is about correct
