I bought these to replace my boots for a trip to Yellowstone. I was tired of big, heavy boots that took up a lot of real estate on my body, and I my bags, but still needed something that provided support in rough conditions. So far, these have delivered. I had my doubts, since they’re so light they almost feel fragile, but so far I haven’t been disappointed. I wasn’t counting, but over the course of this trip these shoes did between 10-12 miles. They handled scree well - could not even feel the rocks beneath my feet. Flat ground is the same story. Comfortable, breathable, and insanely light. I did not get the model equipped with gore-tex (gore-tex has longevity issues) so the heavy morning due along the rivers while I was fishing soaked my feet fast, but the shoes dried out very quickly. My one qualm is the amount of wear I’m noticing after just one trip. A well-rounded trip, but I’m noticing significant wrinkling in the midsole and some wear along the lugs that hold the shoelaces. I’m hoping these are just signs of life.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I gave these to my father to wear the sizing is slightly off he usually wears an 8-8.5 but the size 9 fits him similar to his normal size. He likes how they fit and that they are comfortable for him to wear as a normal shoe for daily use. For reference my father also wears compression stockings with socks which also may contribute to sizing differences

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Me and my husband really like to hike and go on a trails, he needed new hiking shoes and these been a perfect fit. They are very comfortable, has good grip that makes it easy to climb the surfaces. Ties give grate support for the feet and ankle. He really enjoys these shoes. Design is also very nice.
We're grateful for your support!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve tried several types of hiking shoes and these are by far the most comfortable I’ve ever worn. They are lightweight and supportive. They provide stability while still allowing flexibility. The cushioning is top notch and great for long hikes. The heel doesn’t slip and was very comfortable. They provide great traction, even on rocky wet surfaces. Fit was true to size. Would definitely recommend and I will only use these for hiking from now on.
Appreciate your positive feedback!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These hiking shoes from Merrell are a great shoe. They are so comfortable with the padded insole lining in the inside. They have just the right of traction for walking the trails without being heavy and stiff like some other brands. Fit is very comfortable and true to size. Color is a nice shade of blue and are a very durable fabric. I will buy another pair and recommend them.
We love to hear this! Thank you for your great feedback!
Great shoe. Comfortable on long distances. Also good on the pavement.
Thanks for the great feedback!
I have hiked numerous times on rough terrain with these shoes. After trying out about a half dozen other well known hiking and trail running shoes, I decided I would keep these Moab Speed 2 shoes purchased on line from REI. I found them comfortable and lightweight. They have good traction and stability, better than a typical trail running shoe. I was impressed with the lacing and tongue system. It holds my feet snugly into the shoes without ever causing any pain. Also, the shoes provide excellent support to your heel and sole pad. I had concern about the durability of the fabric overlay, however after so many trips over mountain terrain with rocks and sticks I am convinced these shoes have lasting resistance to wear and tear. I have only run in them briefly over trails with obstructions such as rocks, roots, sticks, elevation, etc. keeping in mind these are mountain trails that I would not chance running on. However I decided if I did run on them, then these Moab shoes are the only shoes I would use. For running on packed dirt trails, where traction and foot protection are not warranted, there are lightweight shoe options. As a final observation of my experience with these shoes, I am impressed that after so many hikes they still look new and show no signs of wear and tear and do not show any dirt accumulation on the fabric.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These sneakers are fantastic! They're comfortable, lightweight, and fit true to size. I love how they look and feel, making them perfect for everyday wear. Whether I'm running errands or going for a walk, these sneakers provide the support and style I need. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of a great pair of sneakers! They look very sturdy. These shoes are great for summer because they're lightweight and breathable.
Thank you for your awesome feedback!
Switching over to these from pure trail runners to use for multi day backpacking. These are better - light enough, dry fast enough, same grip, more supportive. For me the slightly higher heel drop of these also better, helping my plantar fasciitis. Sized up half size to accommodate darn tough medium weight. Highly recommended.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sneakers are very comfortable, fit well on the foot. Do not squeeze the foot, they are comfortable. Soft insole inside. I think they are great for hiking in the mountains. Supports the foot without letting the foot dangle. Beautiful and in a nice blue color. I think they can be worn for many years. The quality is great!
Thanks for the awesome review!
