no good for sandy situations
I bought this shoe for the 6 day river rafting trips I go on given that it is billed as a water shoe. It took a few days prior to the trip for the base to adjust to my feet but they were super comfortable after that. However, once I got on the river, within 3 days the material collected so much sand between the 2 layers of fabric over the toes that I could not wear them. I spent a lot of time trying to force the sand out - but had to give up and wear an open toed sandal that I brought for emergencies. I can't wear them - they were pretty expensive for less than one month of wear.
