Needs Compression straps like the REI Big Haul 120

I finally bought this 100 liter model of the Patagonia 100 liter duffell bag and it is nice and spacious/cavernous inside. However, it would be even greater if it had compression straps on it. That's the only reason for 4 stars. Even my rei big haul 120 and my eagle creek no matter what duffell bag have compression straps on them. The only solution I can think of is to get 2 or 3 free/independent straps and then put them around this Patagonia 100 liter duffell bag so that it's nice and tight and snug.

Not As Durable As Advertised

After much research, I bought this duffel bag to take on a sailing trip in the Caribbean. It is everything it's advertised to be - huge, holds lots and lots of stuff, truly a black hole. (Definitely use packing cubes). However, when I got home, I noticed a tear in the bottom of the bag after being checked on Delta airlines. I expected a lot more durability from Patagonia, and this is very disappointing.

Best check-in bag duffel.

Excellent check-in bag for any airline. Didn't want to have a heavy bag that contributed to my 50lbs. Fits everything plus more than what I need.

Very large

I purchased this for a 14 day trip to the Galapagos and while it seems study it’s just too big. I had the full 14 days (& I’m a chronic overpacked) and still so much room. I ended up returning it and going with the 72L. The bag is easy to pack and keep organized with packing cubes. Appears to be able to hold up to traveling needs but would have just been too big to handle. Be warned it comes folded and packed in its interior pocket which took me quite awhile to get it out of. Great concept for staring but I would have never gotten it back in. Also easy enough to find a tutorial online but some sort of directions on how to attach the backpack straps would have been appreciated. Overall if you need to pack big bulky gear it might be great (or if you don’t have to schlep it around much) but for more manageable bag I’d go smaller.
