Worst hiking boots I’ve ever had, and I am a devout Altra running shoe customer. The problem is that hiking boots need to be made out of sturdy material, but these are just running shoes shaped like hiking boots. Hiking boots literally made out of the same materials as street running shoes- lightweight, breathable, but NOT durable. I only wore them on one easy hike, about 6 miles on a clear trail, and the soles on both shoes were hacked to shreds. Hiking boots need tough rubber soles, not soft running shoe soles! I want my money back on these, though I will continue to wear Altra running shoes.

I love Altras!!! Have multiple pairs of Lone Peaks. I was excited to see these as I wanted more of a boot and these are waterproof and come with Vibram soles. The only reasons that I didn’t give them a perfect score are: 1. I ordered the wide and they are narrower than the wide lobe peaks but still acceptable for my feet. 2. The laces could be longer. I have not tested them out in the field yet but they seem really comfortable out of the box and I appreciate a bit more protection underfoot than my lone peaks offer.

Right out of the box did a 10 miles hike in the White Mountains of NH. They were lightweight and comfortable the whole time. Was worries when folks said they were narrow but I did not think so.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally a mid hiker that fits my foot! The Lone Peak Hiker was always just a little too much space, but this is perfect. Comfy, and I've already gotten compliments on how cute they are too!

Awesome alternative to Lone Peaks for those of us with narrow feet! Still very comfortable and roomy toe box. Love them! I usually wear Altra Rivera, which are slim fit for context.
