This headlamp was provided free of charge for review purposes. Upon receiving, my first impression was that this is a lot bulkier than the type I’m used to (split light and battery pack). So obviously I’d say not as comfortable but I could get used to it. is sturdy and well built with aluminum casing. Not sure exact waterproof rating but my first use was in the rain for an hour and it held up. The dial that switch seamlessly between different focus modes is functional but I find myself just leaving it somewhere in the middle. Not completely sold on proprietary magnetic charger but so far it has proven to be reliable in normal use.
I've been using this headlamp for evening runs and walking the dog. It's brighter than other headlamps I've used, and the dial on the front makes it easy to switch between spotlight and broad light - nice to not accidentally shine directly in a neighbor's eyes as I go past them. I think it would be great for biking too. I was a little worried about how bulky it looked, but it is comfortable to wear. I like the double strap - between that and the little rubber backing behind the light, it stays in place with a lot of movement.
Easy to use, bright light good for running or walking. I primarily use headlamps for early morning running or late evening walks, this works for both with great battery durability and more than sufficient lumens for my use. It is easy to use with the single button.
Pros: it’s super bright, has a dial to adjust settings which is easier than buttons in my opinion and has a decent battery life. Cons: it’s somewhat bulky and heavy so not super comfortable for activities like running and charging cord does not include adapter (compatible with USB-C)
Living on property this has been a great headlamp for working outside. The button system is very easy to work along with the dial for changing brightness. I anticipate this to be a great torch for camping trips and trails. I appreciate the versatility in a single headlamp with the red light, magnetic charging cable (it really does stay connected). I removed the top strap as it wasn't needed but if I were to need to put this around a helmet it could be helpful.
A very well designed and solidly built headlamp. Long battery life, good weather-proofing and ruggedizing, and convenient design features. The only improvements I would make are adding a cushion or pad of some sort on the back of the headlamp where it sits against your forehead as it is rather uncomfortable, and perhaps a mechanism for the dial that broadens or narrows the light beam so that when you reach the maximum on either side it doesn't spin anymore and just stops mechanically rather than just keep spinning and doing some sort of mild light flashing which isn't super intuitive. Other than those aspects of the device, it is a great option to consider if you want a headlamp that will seemingly last you a lifetime with a battery that will potentially last you a whole week-long camping trip depending on your usage.
I recently had the opportunity to use the Ledlenser HF6R Core Headlamp. A couple buddies and I went on an overlanding trip in the San Diego desert. We spent two nights in the desert (in different locations) which provided me the opportunity to use the light on several occasions. I used the light to set up camp (after driving all day), to make meals and for the occasional trip to the make shift latrine. Overall all I was very impressed with the light, it has several features that I found to be valuable. First of all, I love the rechargeable battery with the battery monitor. This allowed for charging during travel and always knowing what the battery strength was. Secondly, the light has a feature called the, “Advanced Focus System,” this allows you to adjust the light to accommodate the task at hand. The Advanced Focus System pretty much allows the user to go from a spot light to a flood light. Thirdly, I found the light to be plenty bright when at max brightness. Members of our overlanding group remarked on how bright the light was. Finally, the metal body seems to be more durable than it’s plastic counterparts. The only constructive criticism that I would offer is the headband is a little on the flimsy side.
Didn’t know I’d n ed a different charging block just to charge it. The magnetic charging cable won’t stay connected to charge the headlamp. The little black tab broke off. It flickers. The tilt angle won’t stay in same place. It’s only slightly heave but the weight is centered in a way it hurts to wear more then 15 minutes. Gives me a headache and red mark on my forehead. The strap is so overly complicated and confusing and uncomfortable. I can’t use this headlamp. I naught it last year and didn’t use it much till recently. I sure hope to return it
This is the best headlamp that I’ve ever owned. I bought it for elk hunting and it was exactly what I hoped it would be. It is lightweight, waterproof, and even has a cool focusing feature that works really well. I would highly recommend for anyone for anyone in the market for a high quality headlamp that can handle the tough conditions in the Pacific Northwest.
Great quality and lives up to all of its claims excellent product.
