I bought these for trail racing ranging from 100k to 10 miles at the end of April. I got to race them twice: a 50k easy trail and a 10 mile pavement-to-gravel mountain race. But, at just 2 months, 5 times of use and 100 miles, the tread has ripped off the ball of the foot. Additionally, there are chunks completely missing from the tread. For a top of the line, $$$ shoe "built for 100 mile racing", I'm heartbroken and disappointed they are trashed just over 2 months of use.
The sneakers are good, light, very comfortable and very pleasant to run in. I was just unlucky with the quality of the shoe. I only ran 99 kilometers of easy running, and one ultra race of 105 kilometers with an altitude gain of 5000 meters. When I bought it for that amount, I really hoped that it would last at least 1,500 kilometers, and not 204 kilometers.
Having used Adidas Adizero shoes as my ‘go to’ for road running over the last few years, including marathons and Ironmans….. when I heard of these trail shoes coming out, I was more than a little excited! And they don’t disappoint!…. In fact, they’re even better on roads than a lot of competitors! But that’s not the environment they were designed for, despite feeling at home there! In the trails, they’re snappy, grippy, offer great feedback and comfort, all whilst looking amazing! Can you tell I’m a fan? My local trail has 3k of road leading to it and these shoes were perfect for every step of the loop! Adidas are killing it with their running lineup at the moment! Exciting times!!
I own 3 pairs of these and want to love them. There are some amazing features. Order 1/2 size smaller than normal. The shoe in the image is less than 75 miles in and a single root caused the damage. Again, lots to love about these but questioning the quality and durability. I've never had a trail shoe rip like this and I've been through some pretty rough conditions.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the foam, it has the correct amount of squish and energy return without being too soft. It’s moderately light, good rubber outsole, and rhe upper is a dream. I love the minimal light breathable uppers that or mostly only on race shoes. The rocket is generous and helps with a nice flow without being forcefull and helps you pick up the pace even when tired. It’s great whether heal striking or getting more on the toes. The laces are great and don’t slip or come undone. The only thing is a wish there was a tiny bit in the heal of the upper I had the fabric cut into my heal some.
What a beautiful shoe! I was very excited to give this one a opportunity as ince i needed a shoe for runnable trails along with dirt/gravel paths. Sizing for me was absolutely perfect, I ordered 10.5 as always and hold and toe box spacing is excellent. I will have to play around with lacing tightness to figure out that best heel hold but that's the case with most shoes imo. The midsole is incredible and I'm sure it will take on the abuse well, the bounce and propulsion is entirely new for me, I have never experienced something like this before. It would be a waste to use this for easy/slow runs since the rocker and midsole are clearly for running at faster paces.
Absolutely love these just completed the HOBO 40 miler and the big school 12 hour run. Comfy great ground contact feel, light responsive they adjust for shorter striding and they propel you when your going that little bit harder, deep ankle sit and a high front rocker so landing mid foot nice and plush, forefoot running very spongy. Would always recommend heel lock tie when using though as the sides are soft so not a huge amount of side support . But with a good lock down you’ll be fine.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is maybe the best road shoe Adidas make - and it’s a trail shoe! So much lighter than other trail shoes I own while still being grippy enough for low to medium trails. Did I mention they are fast? From the generous slab of Lightstrike Pro, to the carbon rods and the continental rubber outsole – to a smooth rocker geometry that rolls you through your stride like butter. Haven't had chance to race in them yet but I'm very impressed so far.
This shoe makes every other trail shoe I have ever owned feel like complete trash. A completely different league in terms of trail racing. Thanks Adidas, insanely fast midsole with a wide stable forefoot. Flexible enough for technical terrain. Continental rubber outsole that grips wet rocks. I almost returned them due to the extreme rocker but it felt amazing running on steep terrain and unnoticeable on the flats.
I was hesitated about the shoes at first, especailly I had necer tried Adidas trail line before. The grip was amazing, first run on wet rocks and muddy trail, I did not slip once. Heel counter is well protected. I am amazed. The ride is really fun ride, not to soft and hard, it gives the perfect balance between the two and high energy return.
