Stable, sturdy rack for E-bikes

We purchased this rack after returning the Thule Easy Fold. The Easy Fold rack did not hold our E-bikes since the rails were too close together. Also it was extremely difficult to attach the bikes to the single post. The upgrades from the Easy Fold to the Epos are well thought out and effective. It is very easy to attach each pivoting post to each bike stem. The hitch mount is very easy to load the rack and it is very stable even with heavy e-bikes. This is the best rack we could find for step-through bikes with front and back fenders. We are very happy with this purchase.

BEST E-BIKE RACK ON THE MARKET

THE EPOS BIKE RACK IS AN AMAZING - STURDY RACK - WE HAVE JUST FINISHED A 3,000 MILE TRIP THRU CALIFORNIA, NEVADA , IDAHO, AND OREGON, WE WENT ON MANY DIRT ROAD THAT WERE UNEVEN AND BUMPY - THIS RACK PERFORMED GREAT WITH MINIMAL VERTICAL MOVEMENT AND NO HORIZONTAL MOVEMENT. OUR BIKE WEIGHT IN AT A TOTAL OF 130 POUNDS. THE WAY THE BIKES STRAP INTO THE EPOS IS EASY AND EXTREMELY SECURE. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR AN E-BIKE RACK THIS IS THE ONE

Easy to set up & use!

I purchased this a little over a month ago. I have a 2024 VW GTI. I wanted to use roof bike racks with it, but any roof rack will not allow the sunroof to be opened. I looked around for a hitch bike rack & the epos seemed to check all the boxes. It is built very well, it is very easy to use, putting it on my car is quick, & so is loading my bike on it. I highly recommend it.

Thule Epos 2 Bike Hitch Rack

This is a nice, heavy duty bicycle rack. It holds our two electric bicycles securely without a problem. Easy to install. I would have bought it with the lights and license plate holder if it had been available from REI, and I will be purchasing the light kit from Thule soon. It tilts down so that I can open my truck's tailgate without removing it (or our bicycles) which is a big plus, but it doesn't tilt up when not in use. It works well even for bicycles with fenders, which can be a big problem with other bicycle hitch racks.

It's not for everyone

Although a nice product, it's not for everyone. 1) You MUST check and tighten the hitch attachment within EVERY 300 miles of driving. 2) It's basically designed to be put on and off every time it's used. (It has wheels). 3) It does not fold up towards the back end of the vehicle, so it sticks out full size all the time. 4) It folds up from side to side towards the center, BUT, you cannot drive with it that way if there are no bikes loaded. The two "wings" are supposed to be stretched out to either side, but nothing to keep them locked in the open position.

The perfect E-Bike rack!

I think this is an exceptional bike rack for E-Bikes. Loading and unloading of an E-Bike on any rack can be challenging. This rack, along with the ramp, make loading our bikes exceptionally easy. We've had several E-Bike rated racks which my wife has always struggled with loading and unloading her bike by herself. Not with this rack. For us, it's an absolute game changer.

Excellent rack

Well designed and thought out rack. Easy to install/remove and closes up for small footprint in our garage. I don’t mind that it doesn’t stay in a ‘fold up’ position on my car; otherwise it would block my license plate (even though many people drive around like this). It’s easy enough to remove when not in use.

Pricey but versatile and easy to store

We were forced into this rack because of our Tern cargo bike with 20" wheels and fenders that didn't work well with a Kuat. Although not thrilled paying an extra 50% ($400), the rack is much lighter than the Kuat, very compact when folded for storage, and holds the bikes extremely well. The adjustable arm does an excellent job of stabilizing the bike while mounting it, so very easy to mount and tighten everything, and once all is tight with the simple ratchet mechanism on each strap the bikes are locked in solidly. The rack has wheels for ease of movement when off the car, but it's so light I don't bother using the wheels as it's a bit awkward to roll it anyway. Not sure the ease of storage and lighter weight is worth the extra $400, but this is a nice rack and the only one that works with our bikes.

Excellent bike rack

We purchased the EPOS-2 rack in order to take multiple trips around the USA and Canada. Thule did an excellent job in working out the kinks of the previous model rack. Not having used a platform rack in the past it takes a bit of getting used to in positioning our bikes on it but now it only takes a few minutes. We purchased the extended ramp but have found it is just as easy to lift the bikes onto the platform. We are very happy with the built-in security features and the ease in attaching and detaching the rack from the hitch. We highly recommend this rack for bikers with e-bikes.

Best Hitch Rack!

We’ve loved the upgrade to this rack! More secure, easier to set up, and a higher weight capacity. Fits our heavy fat tire e-bike with no issue. I recommend getting the light kit for visibility at night and adding the cable lock. We didn’t buy the ramp and it’s going just fine.
