I've been wearing Salomons for over a decade and have been disappointed these last couple of years. They weren't fitting right for a while, the quality had gone downhill, and the colors have been hideous. I was about to switch brands and thought I'd give them one more try, and I'm happy to say these did not disappoint! They look and feel like the older ones I've loved, and they're super comfortable and look great! I haven't had them long, so I'm not sure how they'll hold up, but hopefully they've made improvements there too. Highly recommend.
I love these shoes, they are my first pair of Salomon outdoor sneakers. These shoes are very light and feel very comfortable on my feet. Being a new pair of shoes, there was little difficulty getting used to them, I put them on very easily and they felt very comfortable. I had some confusion in choosing the shoe size, my foot length is 23cm at first I didn't know whether to choose 6 or 6.5, but according to the instruction I chose 6.5. I felt half a size bigger in wearing them, but considering that I will be wearing thick socks for hiking and that my toes will be on top of the front part of the shoes when I am going down the slope, I feel that choosing half a size bigger is still very right. Not bad for a professional outdoor brand. Anyway, really like this pair of classics and the color is especially nice!
There are really cute style and they are comfortable to run in, but they’re a little bulky for trails if you are trying to be nimble. These will definitely have a place in my hiking shoe rotation, but I’m going to keep looking for something to replace my current trail running shoes. I bought these a half a size larger than my normal street shoe size, but I should have stuck to my normal size because they run big! For reference, I normally size half a size up for running shoes.
These are the only workout shoes I can wear and this is the only model that supports my flat feet and offer enough stability. I wear orthotics because I have very flat feet. I wear these for everyday for walking, elliptical, hiking, boxing, working out etc. I just wish this model had more color selections and pattern. Whenever I see a color I like, I buy them and save until current one needs replacing. I must have 12 pair and currently wear 4 depending on my outfit. I can not wear the unisex style because they are too wide and floppy. Hopefully, Solomon will keep making women’s sizes. Sizing down in unisex or men’s is not the answer.
I've worn Salomon hiking boots forever, back from when they were a round-toed style. So I love Salomon. The brand has always given me a fit that worked really well for my foot without creating hotspots or rubbing, plus provided super technical performance and support. At the same time I have avoided wearing Salomon trail shoes because I didn't think I could be comfortable with the quick lace system. But... During the summer, I needed a new pair of trail shoes and finally tried on this model as well as the waterproof model. Both were a fantastic fit and this shoe was extra attractive because of its super light weight and fun color. In addition to the light weight, it shapes around my foot well and gives great stability. I feel very placed and secure each time I put a foot down. Some trail shoes I've worn don't do this -- I particularly have a hard time with the styles that rock forward, which I find destabilizing. The quick lace system is very easy and pretty clean-looking, as the lacing is the same color as the tongue fabric. There is a mesh pocket to tuck the toggle of the lacing system into, so the cords do butterfly out a bit but they are tethered and don't get in the way. The white soles look really crisp. The sole is a tiny bit different from my other brands. There is siping around (at least some of) the lugs, which is great for traction but I find also tends to attract more dirt. Once the dirt is in the siping it hard to get the soles clean again. As I'm getting over a condition that put a temporary block to my 20 mile a week trail habit, I am using these shoes mostly for casual wear, on concrete, and on grassy hills where I'm doing rehab. Going up a steep hill in the grass there is a tiny bit of heel slippage, but it's not problematic. I find I can't cinch the quick-lace all the way tight at the ankle due to design (and the puffy "S" on the tongue). Coming downhill where the grass is pitted and scarred from kids using the area for tobogganing I feel secure in my foot placement and have not experineced sliding or slipping. We get rain where I live from September through June, so wet surfaces are always a factor. This sole does pretty well on wet concrete where your weight is placed over the sole. There is a tiny bit of slippage as you push off in the toe area where there is more shear and less weight bearing. I tend to find this with most of my trail shoes, especially with Vib*** soles, so I wasn't surprised and it didn't make me feel insecure. In summary I'm plenty happy with this shoe.
Beautiful shoe! But i was absolutely shocked to see it was a bright NEON ORANGE rather than a terracotta/ burnt orange like it shows on the website. I was really bummed to see that the colors were totally off from what I really truly wanted. Even the stripes in the back are different colors than the she shown on the website here.
I have been wearing the XA PRO for what seems like forever. The most important feature of any shoe is how it fits YOUR particular foot and the XA PRO really seems made for my feet. The shoe is deep enough to accommodate my custom orthotics and are sturdy enough to protect my feet for walking, biking or hiking. I have several pairs and wear them every day. My best guess is that I have been wearing Salomon's for 20 years and I have never had issues with quality or durability. I love the quick lace system and have never had issues with hot spots or sore spots on the tops of my feet.
I love these shoes so much the first time that I bought them again. They give me plenty of support, great soul for hiking, and I love the drawstring tie. We’re exploring the ruins in Mexico recently and they gave me the support I needed.
Great shoes overall, very confortable & offers good support. The color is more flashy than what the picture represents. I was expecting a pastel / lighter shade of pink.
Great fitting and comfortable shoes. Nice tread pattern and grip. Breathes well.
