Great classic ski jacket. Has all the standard features you'd expect like a dedicated ski pass pocket, pit zips, and the ability to connect to your ski pants. There were a couple added bonuses I really liked though. Overall would be a great daily jacket for the mountain. It's slim fitting so a little more tricky to wear on those frigid days but it's well insulated for most conditions. Things I like: - Built in goggle wipe on the front pocket - Mesh in the pit zip vents - Built in wrist gators - Soft fleece lining around the face Things I didn't like - Length. This is a bit personal preference, but I like my ski jackets to fit a little long. This hit about mid-bum
This jacket is cool and comfy, keeping you warm with handy features like inside snaps to block out snow. It's got lots of pockets – two inside, two outside, one on the sleeve, and a chest pocket with a lens wipe for your sunglasses or goggles. For context, I'm 5'8" and 130 pounds, and the small size offers a snug fit that I find just right. It accommodates multiple base layers or a larger sweatshirt without feeling too tight. If you prefer a slightly looser fit, opting for a medium might be a good choice. The only downside is, if you're like me and rough on your outdoor stuff, the light color shows dirt. I haven't washed it yet, but it might lose its clean look.
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. This is a warm, insulated jacket for riding in the cold. I'm in California (mostly ride Mammoth / Eastern Sierra), so "cold" is anything <30F with 10+mph winds. I can see this being great for storm riding. There are wrist gaiters to add additional hand warmth. The hood feature is what I love the most. It has two easily accessible drawstrings that cinch the hood tight so your face is covered, leaving just enough room for goggles. You can release these easily with these "buttons" that wit on both sides - just press and release. The hood has a stiffened visor cap so it can give additional coverage over your helmet. Zippered in the usual places - chest, two hand, inside chest and sleeve for easy pass access. I'm a 38C bust, size 6/8 and 5'0 ft tall with a longer torso than inseam. The M fit snug on me, leaving me enough room for 1 thin layer and my bibs. The length hit below my butt. As a snowboarder, a L would probably be more comfortable to give me room to move but would probably be way too long in the arms and butt. This would also definitely not work for ladies with hips as there's no stretch or flare down there.
This is an extremely cute and thoughtfully designed jacket. I love the colors and the fit, which is lower on the hips with the rounded seam in the back. In terms of technical specs, it pretty much has it all: the thumb holes are really nice to keep the forearms warm even if you're taking gloves on and off. The inside buttons are nice to keep snow from going in your pants (the worst!). Pit zips are included and one of my personal must-haves. The hood and external sleeve openings all cinch down or loosen as needed. There are spacious internal pockets and zip pockets on the outside. In terms of sizing: I would recommend sizing up. I wear a medium top and got this in a medium. This fit with mid-weight layers underneath. While it is quite warm, it would be too tight with much more than that underneath. My hips are slightly wide and it fits a little snug there.
I received this jacket to test before ski season started. As a result I was unable test on the slopes so this review is based on at home try on. The jacket runs small. I’m 5’8” and normally wear size large in my shell ski jackets from other brands like Arcteryx, Armada, and Mountain Hardwear. My sizing is to make sure that I can fit 2-3 layers under the jacket. With this jacket in size large it’d be uncomfortable to layer that much. This jacket has a decent amount of insulation so it might be possible to get away with only 1-2 layers under. The material feels like it is high quality and the jacket feels relatively heavy.
