Stylish and Functional Snow Pants
I recently had the pleasure of testing out the Picture Organic Clothing Women's Exa Snow Pants. The tailored fit is both flattering and functional, providing a stylish silhouette without sacrificing comfort. The design is a staple for ski pants; the subtle logo accents and integrated zippers make for a sophisticated stylish look that would match virtually any ski jacket and won't go out of style. The Exa Snow Pants truly shine when it comes to functionality. The waterproof and breathable fabric kept me dry and comfortable throughout a full day of skiing. The well-designed ventilation system allowed me to regulate body temperature throughout runs and the reinforced knees and seat added durability and protection. The adjustable waistband is a thoughtful touch, allowing for a customized fit that stays secure during movement and can scale with you if you're wearing more or less layers throughout a winter season; I also liked the high waisted design for keeping any moisture out of my base layers. The boot gaiters and adjustable cuffs compare well to other snow pants keeping snow out and ensuring a comfortable fit with my boots. My only slight drawback on the pants is that they were a bit long on me even in my ski boots. I'm 5'3" (so a bit on the shorter side). This has just translated to some slight bunching of the fabric in the knees but not in a way that I won't wear the pants! I ordered a size medium. The Picture Organic Clothing Women's Exa Snow Pants are a fantastic staple addition to any winter wardrobe. They seamlessly blend style and functionality, making them suitable for a variety of winter activities. I would highly recommend these snow pants to any woman looking for a reliable and fashionable option for the winter season.
Awesome pant for staying warm on snowy days
These pants are awesome. I hadn't had new ski pants in so many years and the technology has definitely come a long way. I would definitely size down if you are in between sizes, but I love that there is an adjustable waist and belt loops to help you really get a custom fit. They also seem to run pretty long. I'm 5'7" for reference. Great insulation overall and I definitely stayed warm all day out in the snow. They will definitely keep you toasty and I didn't need a base layer the day I wore them. The vents are such a great feature too and allow you to cool down easily and efficiently. Very waterproof without being a bulky or stiff fabric. No issues with getting wet or any snow making it inside the pant. The built in gaiters are key! I also love that the high waist keeps snow out too.
We have found the perfect snow pants
I was super stoked to be chosen to review these Picture Organic Exa pants and when they arrived just in time for my trip to Boyne Island , it felt like fate was sealed. Being a 5’11 female with a long torso, long legs, and essentially no butt, has proven difficult to find well fitting pants, but Picture really hit the mark with these adjustable and stylish pants. Immediately upon putting them on they are COMFY. They hit right below my belly button and are neither too tight nor too loose around my waist, and the top most part of the pant is actually quite thin, in a very good way- think the elastic material and fit of the top of boxer briefs. They are flattering without being too fitted and hip hugging, which is something I find unappealing in women’s pants and has even been a reason for why I usually opt for mens pants… did I mention these are comfy? They nailed the look and fit of these pants- I really love the shape of these- they are practical and flattering and make me feel confident, like one of the cool kids.. The material is perfect. It’s so soft both internally and externally and it keeps me warm (which is impossible for my body that runs very cold) without feeling stuffy or overheated and the fit is ideal for my body type (tall and slender)- there is enough space that I can layer, but I don’t have to wear as many layers as I had to with my last pair of snow pants and therefore I feel less constricted. Without my boots they hit right below my heel and with my boots on they are long enough to not be too short (which can be harder to find at my height, but also I’m particular) but aren’t so long that I’m tripping over them. Although I wish there were more than 2 pockets, I love that the drawstrings for the boot gaiters are in the hip pocket- I don’t even have to bend over to adjust them and I can tighten and loosen with grace as I please- I have never experienced this luxury and now want it forever. As far as dryness- yes, they do well in that category too. You can see the water bead off and I`m confident their waterproofing will hold up for a long time. The one complaint- more pockets, please… to every manufacturer ever- always give us more pockets. A couple more even, preferably not right on the hip where we constantly bend or at least a double pocket for something that needs to be more secure, would be really helpful. Other than that, I love these. Big fan.
Fantastic! But very long
These pants are AWESOME. Granted, my previous pair of ski pants are almost two decades old and were hand-me-downs, but that doesn't undersell how thoughtfully these were designed. For starters, the pants have an adjustable waist band and belt loops, which is great because my hips are way bigger than my waist. It's hard to find ski pants that fit me (part of the reason why I've haven't purchased a pair in a decade) but the fit of these are really comfortable in the legs and waist. The inside vents are great for some extra fresh air. The vents are great for snowshoeing or other outside winter activities; or if you tend to run hot downhill skiing, or prefer to ski with a base-layer. It's not cold enough to wear a base layer here yet, so I was perfectly comfortable with some shorts on underneath these. These pants might work for a mellow touring day, too, since they're a mid range level of insulated. It just depends on your climate and heat preference. I mostly prefer my soft shell pants for touring, but these will be nicer on snowy, colder days. I will say, these pants feel warmer than a lot of other mid insulated downhill pants, they feel warm just putting them on. I probably wouldn't wear them in the spring-time. The fabric/overall quality is also really nice. We had some snow that turned to rain and these were warm and waterproof in wet snow/rain-y conditions. The built-in gaiters were super nice for my hiking boot as well. I didn't see much of a difference when the pant snaps were done or undone, though. Only downside is that these pants are very long, so they work with ski boots, but aren't as compatible with snowshoes or snow-boots. They still work, but walking around without the extra shoe height is a little tricky. You can see in my pictures the difference between sock, mountaineering boot, and ski boot. Overall, these pants are fantastic, preform well, and are made of sustainable materials which I love. They just run a little long and probably work best downhill skiing.
Great pants but runs large
I haven't been able to test these pants out on the mountain yet, since we aren't in full snow season, but with the current low temperatures ranging in the 30s, I will say these insulated snow pants are really toasty! I went outside during a rather cold morning without any base layers and I felt really warm. I can only imagine that wearing these with a base layer in the mountains would either be the perfect amount of warmth or you could even possibly run hot while being active. There are thigh vents though to help circulate the air if it comes to that. I will say that these pants run large based on my sizing. I am usually in-between a Small to Medium depending on the brand. Based on the sizing chart, I decided to go with a Medium and they were incredibly roomy around the waist to the point that the high waisted elastic band did not hold up and caused the pants to drop down. I would suggest sizing down if you're in-between sizes. Even if I were to use a belt (since there are belt loops), the sizing would be off. What I will say though is that I really do like the elastic high waist. I typically go for bibs because I like that they are looser around the waist and I don't feel constricted. With the high-waisted elastic band, it gives more breathing room and would prevent outside moisture/snow from getting in vs. low waisted/non-stretchy pants. The length was a bit longer due to it being a larger size, but I would say the pants length in general is very typical of snow pants due to it being longer and wider to be able to fit over ski or snowboard boots. All in all, I would recommend these but would size down!
Updated review with use: a great pant if it fits
reviewed at purchase, update since i've used them: they are cozy and comfy and kept me impressively dry resort skiing in wet snow this week. I took in the waist elastic with two small darts. I wish the elastic was in a casing instead of sewn on to make it easier to do sleek adjustments to the only thing keeping ur pants up. The waist gaiter idea is a fantastic alternative to bibs but the lack of adjustability is a real weakness. I don't find them too warm for the west coast and haven't used the vents. I agree that they are kind of oddly long but I don't notice that as a skier. I am pleased with how comfy soft they are and how dry they keep me. I'm not thinking about my pants when I'm skiing and that's what I wanted. I also feel like they have a mostly unisex look which I appreciate
Great Insulated Pant
First time buying anything from Picture and these pants are great. I’ve skied in the 6 times now and I like them more and more each time. The insulation is perfect for me (I run cold) and the length is long enough to cover my ski boots.
Def not worth the money
Purchased these 11/18/2023. Didn’t get to wear them for the 23/24 season because I broke my wrist. Won’t get to wear them for the 24/25 season either, because they’re poorly made and cheap quality. Unbuttoned the waist buttons to put them on and the piece that holds the button onto the pants snapped off. The button now won’t stay on. Certainly not worth $200 and very annoyed that I’m 10 days past the one year return window.
thumbs up
love these: high waist with stretch + pockets + comfy and warm
A stand-out in sitting and crouching comfort
*Not tested in snow yet. Will update when we get some. Bought for west coast downhill resort ski. This is a medium warmth pant, not just a shell. I didn't freeze in my previous shell+base, but I did struggle with cold toes, so I'm choosing a warmer pant to keep my blood warmer all the way to my feet. This pant will also be nice for more relaxed snow activities. I think it will also be fine for warmer ski days if worn with a featherweight base layer since it isn't too much. Not enough for a nighttime sleigh ride. size chart accurate, 5'7 150 lbs L is comfy. The outer fabric is really supple, not stiff and bulky like some others. The soft fabric + the waist elastic make it very comfortable to sit and do a deep crouch in this pant without it digging into your stomach or gapping at the back, and the elastic wants to migrate to the narrow part of your waist, essentially pulling your pants back up. The elastic gaiter seems like a great invention that gives you some of the advantages of a bib without the... famous logistical issues. I really like the in-pocket length adjustment cord. It's a unique feature but with the pants long enough to give full ankle coverage when seated, they drag when you're walking in normal shoes. but you can easily give them a lift out of the slush. Since this is my first insulated pant in a while, we'll find out if the vents are sufficient. They have a pretty dense mesh across them that I may remove for more airflow. Cons so far: - No adjustment of the waist elastic tension, it either fits or doesnt. There are hip beltloops if you really want. - No thigh pocket, only hip pockets. Why are we still placing pockets such that our granola bars and cellphones will be folded in half by the hip joint, on clothing made for sports where you spend a lot of time sitting or crouched. The upper thighs are the tightest part of the pantleg too and we are shoving cargo in there why? midthigh pockets ftw and i will miss the ones on my retired shells.
