Hiking boots you can wear anywhere.

Wow. What could be better? I drove the 25 miles to pick up my boots, leaving my expectations at home - but hoping. Naturally, I chose to try them on before heading for home. Again, wow. The higher rise made them slightly more difficult to pull on than my running shoes (a good thing - ankle support). Once on they felt good; once laced up they felt great. Really great - no pressure points, enough toe room, great support all around. I tossed my running shoes in the box and headed for the car. It didn’t feel like I was wearing “boots”. The sole is supportive without feeling too stiff; no slop in the heel; and best of all no blister-producing slop or slip. I don’t want to tak them off! They look great, too.

Comfortable - but No Ankle Support

Kind a does things OK, but nothing that well shoe. It has good cushion, feels good, but the ankle support is "sloppy" and does not appear that it would be supportive in situations where you need ankle support. Not enough eyelets at the top - so while the bottom feels good, the top is loose and sloopy. I don't have enough confidence in this shoe to keep it. If you are walking around on sidewalks or similar it would likely be fine. If you going on trails with a tilt or slope, or loose rock - I wouldn't trust it.

Great, but not perfect

Pretty great shoe overall, I bought it on sale and figured why not. Toe box narrows slightly, people with wider feet will probably not love these shoes. The insole is only ok, with poor arch support. I'm going to get a supporting insole to replace it. It is soft and warm. Waterproofing is great, up to ankle deep and still dry. The taller cuff on the shoe doesn't really provide extra water proofing or support, mostly helps keep sand out and it does that pretty well. Grip is excellent, probably the best feature. Another note, because of the waterproofing, it is a sock-type shoe. Meaning you slide your foot into a tight enclosure instead of a loose tongue. If your feet are tall, it probably won't work for you. My feet are moderately tall and took a couple hikes for it to wear in and not cause cramping or numbness. The tab on the back is also a bit weird. Becuase the shoes are a little hard to slip into, especially when they are brand new, a nice pull tab on the back to help you put them on would be nice. This shoes tab is like a small piece you have to pinch, instead of a loop. Small complaint, but otherwise pretty awesome. Fairly light, good grip, dry. For me, the positives outweigh the negatives.

overall excellent shoe

Initial hike was 15 miles in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of these, once you get the laces adjusted. they held up over all terrain and with the expected rain that literally comes with the territory. only concern is the soft white band on top of the sole. a few accidental kicks of lava and that band is starting to peel/chip. Not sure how the long term durability will be with rocky terrain, but so far so good.

Excellent all around

These are excellent shoes the only thing I would say be wary of is the shoe laces being rather long. My work around was wrapping them around the ankle area of the shoe and then hooking them and tying and it works like a dream. Overall the shoe is sturdy I work as a Amazon driver and these shoes are waterproof breathable and sturdy the roll bend in the back of the shoes pretty sweet.

Perfect for my needs

I bought these for yard work shoes. I realized that I walk about 150 miles and 100+ hours doing yard work each year and find a good pair hike shoes are ideal. So far these are perfect. Great traction and support, some cushioning, stable and the gore tex is great for wet mornings. They are a tad small so I went up 1/2 size (10.5 to 11) with roomy toe box.

Almost perfect shoulder season boot.

Waterproof and fits like a running shoe. Normal narrower Salomon fit. Hiking boot height, but I wish the shoe had one more wrung or loop at the top to help keep water out a little better. It is fine when I wear gaiters or long pants, but wearing tights or shorts if I am on a super wet trail some water can get in through the top easier than expected.

Awesome shoe!!!

Very impressed with this product. No break in time. Ready to go, right out of the box. Recently went to the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina and they held up extremely well. Looking forward to pushing the limits with these to see how well they hold up. So far so good.

Great, but short life span...

Loved this pair of shoes out of the box, light weight water proof and comfortable right away. Issue is they sometimes leak. First pair I exchanged because they let water in. 2nd pair now have blown out the side after 10 months
