To preface, I LOVE this shoe's predecessor, the C.RDY 1 [on the left in the attached images] The Terrex Free Hiker C.RDY 2 is a mixed bag of changes from its predecessor. With its offset + improved zipper, the C.RDY 2 has a much sleeker profile than the C.RDY 1, but this offset placement comes with some downsides: The C.RDY 2 has laces (see image 3) which were not present on the C.RDY 1. ALL of the issues I experienced with the C.RDY2 stem from the addition of these laces. Because the laces require an extra layer for waterproofing up to the tongue, the boot is less flexible. Additionally the laces press against the lace cover in a way which creates unnatural flexing and stress points. Also likely as a result of the zipper placement, the flexible panel on the toe of the C.RDY 1 is notably missing on the C.RDY 2... this contributes to the uncomfortability of the C.RDY 2. The addition of laces was unnecessary (just look at the reviews of the C.RDY 1) and cause too many issues VS the negligible increase in utility they provide to this boot. Overall while the C.RDY 2 looks better than the C.RDY 1, the it is too uncomfortable to recommend.
I bought a pair of those boots, they are uncomfortable to close the zipper, the zipper even ripped off, my boots are new but ruined
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best for snow and hiking, outdoor activities and keeping insulated.
Overall, I found it to be a comfortable shoe, although it was slightly snug. One downside is that it takes a bit longer to put on and tighten compared to other shoes. However, once it is on, it looks great and has a stylish design. In terms of comfort, the Adidas Waterproof Hiker is excellent. It provides good support and is very comfortable to wear. Additionally, the waterproofing feature of the shoe works well, keeping my feet dry in wet conditions. Despite the slight inconvenience of taking longer to put on, I believe the Adidas Waterproof Hiker is a really good sneaker. I highly recommend it for its style, comfort, and effective waterproofing.
I use it strictly for work and I love it more everyday and I am seriously considering buying a second pair just because. Although a lil narrow to my liking, it has been comfortable (specially when you break it in). I know these are waterproof but I would love to have a summer version, same style but more breathable. I know it would defeat the purpose for it being waterproof. But, I’m in law enforcement and I just wish I could wear them year around. Great job adidas and please do not discontinue them. Ps: I like these better than the previous ones.
I got 15 Free Hikers (HF forward) with 6 are V2. & the Triple Black COLD.RDY V1 is an increasable model. I hesitated on the V2 due to few reviewers mentioned on the new pull lace discomfort;however, decided to buy & try. I love everything the V2 has to offer but initially had the same discomfort issue;however, after laying the lace fully flat towards the toes just before the toe joins and zipped up I can't feel it at all, PROBLEM SOLVED! Compared to V1, V2 provided perfect option to ware it loosely or full lock down with maximum stability. After over 2 hours of conservation terrain hike, it provided the level of support and lockdown the V1 never could due to the relaxed sock like design and roomer than all other V1 models I own. Highly recommended!
This footwear ticks a lot of boxes regarding comfort, protection and material quality. Performance gives plenty of spring in the midsole with a positive response in each step. And with the Lace, Zip and Velcro enclosure these give a secure fit. The only point I can see which may fail with repetitive use is the zip, but only time will tell. Other than that these feel like they are built to last. The look and style need no words, if your reading reviews, then these have already caught your interest.. it’s the price that needs justifying. That was my consideration, but what the heck! A voucher takes the edge off.
I purchased these boots for work at a Walmart distribution center, specifically the Freezer where it is -14° and -20°. I can definitely say the boots kept my feet warm, but the durability of the boots did not hold up. I’m not able to wear steal-toe boots because of the cold, and I am on my feet all day. Over 6 months, the laces in one of my boots snapped and one of my zippers broke off. The 1.0 of these boots were less complicated and the better for it.
Bought for a pair of rain shoe/boots (shoots) living in Florida, essential. Ordered half size up to be on the safe size, having flat feet that splay out, great decision. Still has a fitted feel but roomy toebox, I don't feel the need to pull the laces any tighter. Boost midsole make them comfortable to stand and walk in. Review as of the first day receiving and wearing shoes.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the 1st generation of this model. I absolutely loved them. The fit, comfort and aesthetics were spot on. I bought these without hesitation as I expected more of the same or better out of them. I was shockingly wrong. The fit, comfort and style are definitely a stem in the wrong direction. They’re needlessly complicated and actually hurt to wear. The center zipper on the prior model was perfect. I don’t understand why the decision was made to change that. Oh well. They can’t all be winners I suppose. Please look to the 1st generation when designing the 3rd generation and I will gladly buy a pair. My intended purpose for these were to wear at work. I barely survived the 1st day because these hurt at the very bottom of my shins on both legs. They’ll likely sit in my closet and collect dust. I don’t like leaving reviews like this but I was totally shocked at how bad these are compared with the 1st generation.
