Really like these overall. They're a bit heavy but super comfortable after break-in. Flex is around a 7 I'd say - don't really notice much of a difference with or without stiffeners added in the tongue. Liner is crazy comfortable with not a hotspot to be found and insole (for a factory one) is really cushy. Great design and seem very pretty bombproof. My only real complaint is the toe box is just way way too narrow at the very end, forcing the toes together in that "athletic shoe" fashion which is both uncomfortable over time and simply not good for your feet when pulling your big toe particularly out of alignment with the metatarsal. If that were not the case I'd rate these a 5 out of 5 - I'm tempted to take away another star but the rest of the boot is so good I cannot. It's a shame, but snowboard boot suck in this regard overall. I find Burton and Ride boots more accommodating in the toe-box, but worse in other ways. f you're used to contemporary shoes with narrow toebox and toe-spring and have not seen the barefoot shoe light, then these will not bother you in the slightest. For me they are just barely tolerable, but the rest of the boot is so good I put up with the discomfort. Laces are good. Eyelet rungs are sturdy. Gaiter is tight but strong and breaks in a bit over time. I experience very minimal heel-lift in these (which is often a problem for me in many other boots) despite there not being a dedicate Boa heel/ankle securing feature - the boot does a good job nonetheless. A very warm, medium/stiff flex, sturdy if heavy-ish boot. At the sale price it's a good deal.
