Allbirds fit true to size for most customers. If you have wide feet or prefer a roomier fit to accommodate toe splay, we suggest sizing up. If you are in between sizes we recommend sizing up for all styles except for Tree Runner styles (size down for those).

Super Lightweight Running Shoe
I was eager to try out the Allbirds SuperLight Wool Runner due to the lightweight style and low carbon footprint! They are even lighter in weight than I expected with a flexible sole and body, which made them easy to break in. They also fit true to size. The only reason I gave these four stars is more related to how they fit my specific feet - my feet are pretty narrow and the toe box is a bit wide for me, so my feet slide around a bit while running. While running my feet also get very sweaty and I find the arch doesn’t quite provide as much support as I’m used to in my other running shoes. For the summer I’m using these as a comfortable everyday shoe. As it gets a bit cooler, I will try running in them again with an additional arch support.

I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. I have to say I have been eyeing Allbirds for a bit and I have been blown away with how versatile this shoe is. I have used it in my dance fitness classes, coaching gymnastics and just out and about. While being extremely lightweight and comfortable, it also offers enough support for me to use it for exercise. I like the wide toe box yet form fitted feel. Some of the features that stood out was the elastic strap (see pic) which holds the tongue but also creates the feeling of an arch support which I loved! The heel bar (see pic) at the back of the shoe was also so smart in helping keep your foot in a flexible shoe. I cannot speak to the durability of the wool uppers over the long term but it has held up through many different activities. Finally, I love the look and style of the shoe for both casual and athletic looks. I would say this shoe is definitely worth it.
Another hit from Allbirds!
I love my Allbirds, so I was really excited to try their new shoe! The first thing I noticed is how incredibly light they are. After wearing other shoes, these felt like nothing on my feet. They required zero break-in period and have been fairly comfortable on days when I’m doing a lot of walking. There’s not a ton of support, as the shoe is very minimalist, which some people may not like. I have pretty flat feet and they suited me just fine. They fit true to size and look good with leggings, jeans, and casual dresses. It’s been a great sneaker to take on vacation.
Very comfy and lightweight but hard to put on
These are not the most aesthetically pleasing but they are surprisingly comfortable. They are very lightweight, with a wide toe box, and a lot of arch support. I also really liked the added heel cushioning. That said these are not easy to put on due to how flexible the upper fabric is and the fact that the back loop is not a loop but rather a tab.

I had a pair of Allbirds Wool Runners about 5 years ago and I liked the looks of them but they were so hot to wear in the summer. I was excited to try out these SuperLight Wool Runners to see if they had miraculously gotten cooler (as if wool has changed its properties over the years). I will say this...the style is way cooler than they were 5 years ago. The light weight feel of them was awesome. And on the pavement/sidewalk they were super cushiony. I took them on a forest walk and I felt every rock below my feet (though that is not what the are advertised to do). I would say that I run hot, so wool probably isn't best for me personally. I would not suggest these for someone that runs hot or gets sweaty feet. I wore them the first time with cotton socks and was dying and had to take them off. The next time I wore them with performance wear socks and it was a bit better experience. Overall, I loved the style and they were comfortable to walk in.
What’s not to love?!?
Luuuuuurv these shoes!! I’ve never tried Allbirds before & stumbled upon them looking for a lightweight neutral shoe. The color is somewhat vanilla (a hint of natural/yellow in the white). They’re incredibly well constructed, lightweight & stylish. Unlike other shoes I have with a natural tie box & light construction, these are insanely comfortable & have a little cushion. I’m so grateful I found them! Hubs saw them for the first time & commented on how cute they are. Yay! I’m happy with this purchase 😎
These shoes had me at hello.
The name wool runner is a bit misleading. These are definitely NOT running shoes. What they are is a fantastic everyday shoe. They are incredibly lightweight, but also have a supportive insole. The upper of this shoe is made from New Zealand sheep's wool - the fabric is both gorgeous and breathable. These shoes fit like a glove and run true to size. I have been wearing these shoes daily while I work, run errands and take walks around town. I was so impressed by these shoes that my partner was interested in trying a pair. Off to our local REI we went to purchase him a pair. I also tried on a couple different styles of Allbirds while I was there and purchased myself a 2nd pair of wool runners in a different color. One thing to note, while I think the wool runners run true to size, the other style I tried on ended up running small. I would definitely recommend trying this brand of shoe on in store if it's your first time purchasing.
Surprisingly supportive and lightweight
When I first pulled these shoes out of the box, I had a hard time believing that something so lightweight and lacking structure would be supportive. But they are! Allbirds have this unique arch support system that must work for just about every arch shape and position. The wool upper is surprisingly breathable during this hot summer (2023), and the broad-spread outsole distributes weight for a really smooth and comfortable ride. I'm sold! So why did I give only 4 stars? Because I'm still getting used to the "hipster" look of these shoes, haha!
Versatile and Comfortable Everyday Shoes
I absolutely love my new Allbirds runners. Although it has been over 90 degrees the past week, I have worn these shoes biking, to a baseball game, doing yard work and out for my birthday dinner and their light weight and wool fabric made them incredibly comfortable despite the heat. The shoes have great style versatile, they go well with a cute outfit but also can be rocked with a pair of running shorts or leggings. I like the idea of the integrated insole however after wearing them for a couple of hours my arches felt sore and I could tell they would not provide enough support for me on a long walk. I am someone who always needs supportive insoles so I will try to see if I can fit them in my Allbirds after I break them in a bit more. The shoes also have a small cushion at the heel which I was originally worried would cause blisters, but it has not bothered me at all so far. I got a size 8 and have wide feet. I'm usually in-between an 8 and 8.5 but these shoes fit great and felt true to size.
Not what I expected, but…
So lightweight that I couldn’t imagine the structure could provide supper or heel cushioning. Clearly, Allbirds has more imagination than I do. More comfortable and supportive than I thought they would be, glad I gave them a try. Insole cannot be not removed and tongue is in a fixed position that could provide clearance issues for orthotics, thicker socks or higher insteps. Oh, and they are really cute. Jury still out on their resilience/longevity, but I am intrigued. .
