I always wanted to try this shoe but have been cost prohibited so when on sale i had to get them and so glade i did. They're everything i expected and look great. I have had several pairs of Asolo shoes that have been a great fit good comfort support and long ware ability. I'm a size 13 with on the narrow side of a medium width and hate shoes not holding my feet keeping my toes from hitting the end. My Asolo shoes can be laced to accommodate about anyone. Only negatives are cost and keeping laces tied i have to pull the double knot really tight so tight they're hard to untie but i can live with the laces.
Good for everyday or for serious back packing. Very lightweight. Soft leather. Gore Tex. Vibram sole. A newer model seems to be in the works, so this was a phased out model. These shoes seem to hand made. These are not mass produced factory shoes. All quality materials & workmanship. Hard to find now a days. Fits well. I bought an extra size larger for the socks & hiking. No need to break in. The leather is very soft & lightweight, but durable. These are Italian company.
Great hiking shoes. Sizing and comfort is excellent although I did use a pair of SuperFeet inserts to stiffen the feel of the soles.
I've gone thru 3 of these pairs, but in their former iteration, being made in Romania. They were fantastic for backpacking, the support they provided on trail and off, and incredibly comfortable. Completely different shoe now that they "re-designed" and moved production to Vietnam. The biggest complain is the narrow width about two-thirds from the front of the foot or about the opposite side of your arch. At first I thought i had maybe injured the edge of my foot by landing on something sharp (rock, log or while wrestling a bear) but when the same pain occurred on my second outing, it was apparent that it was the shoe causing the pain. Too bad.. they had a good thing going with this original shoe and I'm sad to see the changes are for the worse, at least for me. Looks like that line has been discontinued. That bear?.... a couple of tickles under the armpits and he was off on his way giggling. No, really!
Very comfortable & durable. This will be my 3rd pair. The only downside is the soles wear quickly on rocky surfaces. They can be resoled, I usually wear out the sole then replace the sole. By the second round the uppers are usually pretty trashed. Still a great shoe!
These are a favorite choice of footwear for me. I have a wide foot and they fit great! Would recommend for sure.
