High quality fenders
The Bluemels came with all the hardware needed, plus a lot of extra pieces to accommodate different configurations. They are plenty wide for the 700 x 37 with space to accommodate a wider tire when I decide to do that. I'm pretty handy with basic bike maintenance, but it still took me 2 hours or so to install them. It takes some time to pull the wheel, install things hand-tight, reinstall the wheel to adjust to the correct position, remove things again to cut the metal pieces, then reassemble and tighten everything. Nothing is very complicated, though. I used 18" bolt cutters to cut the metal, and had to take things apart to position that. The instructions say to cut them with a hacksaw, 1cm above the bolt, after they're tightened in place. I couldn't see how to do that without damaging the fender, since they're far too tight. In fact, they say to put these clever rubber caps on the ends after you cut them, but they are so close to the fender that was impossible. The good thing is, with them so close to the fender they won't catch on anything so the caps aren't needed.
Excellent fit on a 2025 Marin Four Corners I Bike
This fender set was purchased for a 2025 Marin Four Corners I touring bike. I was concerned that the rear fender in this set might be too tight, or not work at all with my 700 x 45c tires. I discovered that there is just enough clearance for my Vee tire company mixed-use tires, which happen to be the widest units that can be mounted on this version of the Four Corners bike. The design and instructions are excellent and there were more than enough included parts to complete the installation. I added a few custom washers/spacers that I made from pieces of rubber fuel hose to help protect the bike frame and better position the rear mounting clip (near the top of the seat stays), but these were not necessary to get the fenders mounted. With patience, you can get everything centered just right. It took me about 4 hours to complete the job. My first short ride revealed quiet operation (i.e., no rattles or vibration). I am looking forward to using these on a May 2025 bike tour across Missouri.
