Best Universal 12 Point Crampon - Period

Got me up and down Mount Adams at 1am in style. Everyone else in our group with microspikes seemed to have less traction. My crampons didn't care about the few miles we walked in scree. These crampons are a great 12 point universal set at an attractive price. I switched out my Grivel G10s for these and haven't looked back. Fairly easy to install and use after you understand the mechanism. Only issue I had was my heel coming out of the rear section but I suspect that was from improper setup at the start.

Work great!!

Got these for my son and myself. Used them a few times around Mt Rainier this month. They stick onto my Solomon hiking boots just fine. When we get legit mountaineering boots in a few months we will see how well they do but the straps are awesome and stay tight. They may not be for ice climbing walls but just general up a snow/ ice covered mountain they are great.

Great Universal Crampon

Only one use under my belt but these crampons got me up Mount Adams at 1am in style. My fellow climbers in microspikes were slipping more than us in crampons. The mounting system is a little tricky to figure out at first if you've never used crampons, but once they're on, they stay pretty solid as long as your heel is locked correctly into the back rubber section. Mine did come loose but I think that was because I had put it on wrong to start. Spikes didn't deform even after a few miles up and down scree.

Bar sticks out the back if you have small feet

I'm size 38/39 and the bar sticks out too much at the back once adjusted to make it safe for descent. Poor design for folks with small feet really. Returning.

The directions are confusing and minimal. I can’t find videos online. I’m worried the bar is going to stick out the back once I size them to my boot- I just got them and am trying to get familiar prior to a Washington state summit. I’m 7.5 in US women’s for reference. I have an old school pair of camps that I love but they are heavy with a lot of straps- I wanted to upgrade and make it easier to take on/off but if the bar sticks out once I actually size my boot I’m returning.
