- Center lugs are closely and evenly spaced for a fast-rolling feel; enclosed siping improves traction while accelerating and braking
- Side lugs are staggered with parallel siping for grip while leaning through corners, and a braking shovel shape boosts traction when stopping
- Transition lugs are tall and spaced out to shed mud; horseshoe siping conforms to the trail and maintains braking traction
- Durable casing protects against abrasion and sharp trail debris
- Grip Compound construction uses softer rubber that conforms to the trail for enhanced traction
- Tubeless-ready design helps prevent flats while providing lower-pressure traction and comfort
- 29 x 2.6 in. size Honcho has a larger contact patch than its 2.4 in. counterpart for more traction and added volume for a more supple ride
- 29 x 2.4 in. size Honcho has a lower volume casing than its 2.6 in. counterpart to decrease weight and boost response without compromising on traction
- Always check with your rim manufacturer to verify rim and tire compatibility before assembly or use

great trail tire. not an xc race tire but rolls very well. a little difficult to get onto rear kovee rim, but these rims are known for being difficult, regardless of tire. still got it on without lube. a lot more grip than xr4 but this is probably due to the 60tpi vs 120tpi. by "grip" i mean everything overall... climbing, accelerating, turning, stopping, etc. 2.4 tans front and rear. durable casing 1035g. garage queen
Nice tire - but not if you are over 200lbs.
I ride Georgia Trails and weigh 200+lbs. I purchased the tan/durable version. A bit of a bear to install when compared to other more popular brands. They roll really nicely on the hard Georgia clay. The biggest issue with these would be the side walls are too thin. In order to make them supple, I guess the rubber is thinner, this is great when you are a lightweight, but you bottom out easily at my weight. To compensate for this, I had to ride them with 40psi, which then makes for a harsh ride - the opposite of why I bought them. In the end, I went back to Maxxis DHF (also bought from REI) and I am happier with that tire. I would recommend these IF you are a lighter person and want a lighter tire. I also wanted to note, the thinner wall causes the tire to lose pressure overnight(not all of it, but much) and the sealant appears to seep through - I don't know how else to say it. After a few weeks the side wall had changed colour and it appeared to be along the threads of the tire as there was a definite pattern developing.
Smoot and supple.
This is the second set of tires. I really like them. I tried a different pair and was riding a competitors tires, but they were a little too aggressive and I found they did not have the grip these tires do. Terrain - Georgia hard packed clay and loose rocks. I have ridden a couple times in the mud and they did okay. I bought the 29 x 2.4 and found they rolled quite nicely, were nice to accelerate with and found them to be supple and smooth over roots/rocks.
