Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT SIZE: If your body measurements are midway between two sizes, select the smaller size for a tighter fit or the larger size for a looser fit. If your body measurements result in different sizes, we recommend using your chest measurement for tops and your hip measurement for pants.

I travel internationally quite a bit, carry-on only. I still overpack because I love beautiful clothes. I bought an Icebreaker 200 merino wool black long sleeve shirt after trying on different wool tops in the REI store. This was the softest. I loved this shirt for travel. I will buy more and pack less tops. People say they wear this year round but I couldn't. It was perfect for the month of December in Italy. In my opinion, this is an excellent shirt for 20° F to 70° F. Great layering piece. It stays fresh, washable in the sink with a bit of bath gel about once a week. I think the black one and gray or similar neutral color would be perfect in cool weather instead of taking six tops.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I must have too many Icebreaker basic colors because I wore this color and many asked where I purchased my shirt. Would like more color choices.
I have several of these shirts and wear them snowboarding and in colder climates. This shirt is icebreaker quality and functionally does its job. Unfortunately, the “natural” color is more of an old yellow - it looks like an old stain across the whole shirt and is very off putting. It is also see-through, so my sports bra shows through it. Overall, I would recommend avoiding this color and go with something else. (Size: M. I’m about 135lb with athletic build and prefer shirts like this to have a bit of space for me to move around in.)
Wore this base layer cross country skiing with very irregular conditions. Some sides of the mountain were cold and very wind exposed and others sheltered and warm. I was exercising a lot and noticed that I did not get too cold in the colder conditions nor did I feel overheated in the sunnier spots. Also did not feel scratchy or itchy like some other wool layers I’ve tried. This top was a win for me. I decided to size up one size from my usual and did not regret it, I was able to wear it like a normal shirt when a jacket was not needed
I work outdoors year-round and practically live in base layers once the temp starts to drop. This base layer is lightweight and comfortable to layer for cool to cold temps. Four stars because the fit was a bit small, especially the sleeves which are maybe 1-2 in too short. I also have a small waist and bigger bust (32D) and found the small a bit too tight to wear without something to cover it. I'll continue to wear it as a base layer but I would size up to a medium to wear the shirt by itself.
After reading about icebreaker, I decided to try one. I haven’t been able to even wear a Marino bowl next to my skin for a long time. I put this on and felt no itch whatsoever. I ordered a large and it fits perfectly . I’m 5’10”, 180 pounds. It is long enough and the sleeves fit just right as well. Looking forward to being able to use it on morning runs as the weather gets colder and cross country skiing here in Colorado.
I have bought this top to wear when skiing but it is far more useful than that; I have already worn it numerous times under other jumpers because it is so light, warm and cosy. It doesn't feel itchy next to my skin and can be worn on numerous occasions because it doesn't smell. So far I haven't had to wash it, I've just laid it over a chair to air after having worn it. I wish it was cheaper because I would buy many more!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Oasis long sleeve crewe is my go-to base layer for winter/spring hiking in Northern California. Also great for keeping warm indoors in cooler months. Needed to replace one that finally wore out after many years of regular use. This version is a little bit different than what I usually purchase but seems well-designed. It's a pretty color though I generally prefer darker tones of blue and purples when available.
I used this in an event and an extra layer for a brisk early morning start. It managed the moisture from sweat well as the day warmed up and there was no chafing. The fit was as described and flattering for an athlete of average build. I consider it a valuable addition to my event and training wardrobe. I really enjoy all of the icebreaker products that I have purchased so far. Check this one out for sure!
It has underarm gussets (indicative of a high-quality garment), coverstitched flat seams, and very soft material. The fit looks great on me (fitted but not tight), and the sleeve and torso length work for me at 5’4” with a long torso. Any shorter and the shirt might be a little long. It’s breathable and comfortable in a wide range of temperatures. I haven’t washed it yet, so I don’t know if it will pill.
