I ordered four sets of boots all at once because I didn't know what size I needed and/or what brand I would prefer. I am a new hiker and I have a 4 night backpacking trip coming up so I didn't have time to do a ton of research. I needed the boots to have ankle support, foot comfort, be water resistant but breathable, and not break the bank. I tried boots from Addidas, Merrel, La Sportiva, and these Salomons. All were in the same general price range of $150-$200. These boots were the absolute best of all qualities. They were not perfect in any, but they beat out the others who each excelled at their own strength. I am very happy with these and have been on roughly 20 miles of hikes so far with no complaints!
Nice quality item as always from Salomon. But I wanted same Salomon as I brought 10years ago. These are all but the same, until we get to the height around the ankle support. It's a little short for my liking and from what I saw in the pictures. So a little disappointed but I'm sure they will last ok. Don't know why the ankle support is getting shorter and shorter, I'd like it how it used to be..but hard to find them like it nowadays, as all makes have gone shorter, which is wrong imo..on another note, I have very wide feet and yet again Salomon do make a great boot that shapes well to my wide feet.
I'm a farmer from South Africa and I use my Salomons for everyday wear. They're the most comfortable of all and my Outback 500s has veen the most comfortable yet. Unfortunately it was time to replace them so the closest match was the Roves and I must admit, they will probably exceed the Outbacks in all areas. Very pleased and happy with the Roves. Great shoe! Well done Salomon!
Bought these along with other Solomon boots to help with foot problem. Has kept me from surgery. Walk about 10-12k steps a day and comfortable. Curious to see how long cloth eyelets hold out.
Real nice boot, comfortable material I’m a size 8 or 8 1/2 in Salomon boots. But I purchased these in a size 8 and had a little extra space for my toes which is what I always look for in any shoe. These boots are light and color way is great. Love the rubber toe cap and nylon material that wraps around the shoes. Also love that my feet stay dry and breathable in these. These boots aren’t as flexible as other designs but they do have mobility in them. Thank you Salomon for the design, and always making comfortable , rugged, and stylish boots.
I'm a first-time hiker so I ordered a few different brands and sizes. These Salomon Quest Rove fit my feet the best with the best combination of stability, comfort, and a combination of breathability and water proofing. I want to be clear that these were not the best in any of these categories, and I really wished the Merrel Moab 3s would have fit better, but this is a great boot for all-around needs. I've completed roughly 10 short hikes, maybe 25-30 miles total and these are doing great.
These have become my "go to" rucking boot while moving under load or with load bearing equipment. The interior is easy to break in and feels comfortable even on long marches while also maintaining firm stability throughout the toe box and heel. I usually can't wear Goretex lined boots for long because generally speaking my feet sweat abnormally compared to other guys so it's surprising I can hoof it out with these. The selling price is also outstanding compared to many other similar products for the same quality. I honestly want another pair as a back up, even though my current set has a lot of life left on them. I've rucked an estimated 150 miles in these do far both on maintained trails and rough terrain. They still look new besides some obvious wear on the heel. Here's to hoping they restock this model soon, I'd be sorely disappointed if they don't produce anymore.
As a mail carrier that walks 12 to 16 miles a day, six days a week, I am constantly on the hunt for the perfect pair of shoes. This is certainly not them. I was excited about trying them on a friends suggestion and reading reviews. My experience was the complete opposite. In the beginning I grew sores on my ankles from where the top lace eyelets hit. I brushed that off as being new and maybe I was lacing them too tight (which should not be the case). I kept wearing them thinking they needed to be broken in. After the first rain, my socks and feet were soaked. These are absolutely not waterproof. After only a couple of months, the rubber on the toe is coming unglued, the inner heal is wearing holes in my socks and blisters on my heals. Maybe because I can't lace them tight because the eyelets will rub sores into my ankles? Seriously the worst money, lots of money, that I've ever wasted. Do not by these if you plan on walking or hiking a lot.

I’ve gone on several 5+ mile hikes with my new Salomon boots and felt like they were instantly ready to go without a break in period. Each step feels securely planted whether I’m scrambling, walking around town or running up on loose gravel. I love these boots and I can tell they will keep up with me for a few years at the very least.
I purchase Solomon because they are so comfortable. The shoes definitely meet that expectation. The only problem is the lacing hooks are more towards the outside, so it catches my other shoelace. Also, they removed the two lower hooks which is convenient for tying the shoes, on, but removing them it’s kind of a pain.
