Rock Shoes: Scarpa recommends you downsize 1/2 to 2 full sizes from street shoe size, though downsizing depends on shoe model, intended use and personal preference.
Mountaineering: Scarpa recommends you upsize 1/2 size or more depending on desired fit. Scarpa plastic mountaineering boots are based on the UK sizing scale.
Ski Boots: All Scarpa ski bootsare measured in Mondo sizing.Highlighted (or not) sizes share the same shell size; the liners are lasted for each 1/2 size. Some skiers may want to downsize up to 1 full Mondo size, depending upon personal preference.

Great boots! They are lighter than any other hiking boots I found, great thread, comfortable, enough heel to toe rise (about 10 mm according to the manufacturer) for comfort. The toe box is narrow and after trying half size up and a whole size up from the size of my street shoes, I went with the whole size up. I wear size 6 in street shoes and purchased size 38 boots. They do not feel too big and my toes are not hitting coming down steep hills. Also, for the first few hikes, the cuff on one boot around the ankle was rubbing coming down the hill but that has resolved itself. These boots performed great so far on rocks, sand trails, in snow and water.
I just purchased these in a 10.5 (Reg. a 10 in all running shoes). The length is perfect on these, but the toe box is slightly narrow. I thought I could make it work bc they are comfy otherwise, light, great tread, and plush ankle support but they are just too narrow. I by no means have wide feet either. Wish they made these in W sizes. I was going back and forth between these and the La Sportive Raptors, which are made in W sizes, so I will likely return for those. If you have narrow feet, these are amazing. Order 1/2 size up.
I have the original Scarpa Rush Mid GTX boots. After overcoming the sizing challenge with those, I have been impressed with how they perform. So I thought I would try version 2 to take advantage of any improvements Scarpa has made. Alas, the version 2 boot is a step backwards in my view; I do not recommend the Rush 2 Mid GTX boots. The sizing on the original Rush Mid GTX boots was off somewhat and it took some trial and error to get a fit that worked for me. I ended up going up 1/2 size (to 43.5) and using a thicker sock to take up some of the excess room in the boot. While this was workable, it was not ideal. I am pleased to report that Scarpa seems to have fixed the sizing issue as my usual European size 43 (US size 9) fit perfectly in the Rush 2 Mid GTX boots. However, Scarpa also redesigned the cuff on the new boots. The original Rush Mid GTX boots used two sets of boot hooks to secure the cuff; the new Rush 2 Mid GTX boots have only one set of boot hooks on the cuff. While the cuff itself is the same height and nearly the same shape as the original version, the single set of boot hooks leads to a poor fit for the cuff. Cranking down the laces to try to get a sufficiently tight cuff yields uncomfortable pressure on the exact wrong spot on the ankle. Even then, the cuff never adjusts down to be tight enough to feel locked into the boot; the top of the cuff always feels loose. This was never a problem on the original version of the boot with the two sets of boot hooks. Also, the factory supplied boot laces are much too long. This is easily remedied with shorter laces but it is disappointing to have to change out the laces on a brand new pair of boots. It seems as though the quality control people in Vietnam never actually tried to tie up the boots. Scarpa says that they changed the heel support design to add more stability. It does seem that there is an extra support bolster in the back, but it does not change the overall feel of the boot. Nor does it seem like enough of an improvement to suffer with the poor fit of the revised cuff. So, regrettably, I am going to be returning the Scarpa Rush 2 Mid GTX boots. I think I will try the low cut version the Scarpa Rush 2 shoes to try to take advantage of the improved fit while avoiding the uncomfortable cuff design of the Mid version.
On the 2nd hike they got a hole in them. Basically negating their waterproof abilities. They also started to fall apart in random spots.
