Thoughtful design and solid support

Overall impressions of this repair stand are positive. The design is generally appealing and relatively compact. I enjoyed how simple the mechanisms to expand the stand and clamp the seat post were. I felt confident it would hold my CAAD10 securely while I performed most basic maintenance. Pros: - very simple to set up, adjust, and break down. Extra points for quick push to release button - light and easy to move - stable - confident in ability to hold my bike - I personally liked the style and look of the stand - three legged construction provides good grip and stability but somewhat limits working area due to floor space requirements. Cons: - Bike at working height would move several degrees L/R due to flex in the main post. Could see the heavy duty version reducing this. - Metal hardware paired with plastic pieces leaves some doubts to long term durability

A really sturdy folding bike stand

Shortly after UPS delivered my brand new bike in a cardboard box (some assembly required) REI offered to let me review this folding bike stand. What good timing! I'm a home bike mechanic and but I've been getting by without one, but it makes things so much easier to have a stand. This one is exceptionally sturdy and very, very stable even with a bike on it. You can easily adjust it to the height you want. I especially love the design of ratchet that holds the seat post. You can tighten it as much as you need to, then to release you just press the red button and it pops open. The stand arrives fully assembled so you can unfold it and use it right out of the box. It does not come with instructions, but a QR code on the package pops up a video that shows how to set it up. It would be super easy to fold it up and take it to any events where people might need bicycle repairs. This stand is such high quality it's almost overkill for my needs. Now that I have one, I'll have to start fixing bikes for my friends!

Pro Mechanic Repair Stand has all the refinements

I received this Feedback Sports Pro Mechanic Repair Stand for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. I expect this will be the last repair stand I will ever need as it has all of the refinements my old Feedback Sports repair stand was missing. The best feature is the ratcheting grip. You can quickly close the grip by sliding it with one hand. Conversely you can release the spring loaded grip the quickly with the release button. Fine-tuning the grip strength is possible with one hand thanks to the crank design. The handle for changing the angle of the grip arm is also improved and easier to tighten and loosen thanks to a three spoke design. My wife was excited about the adjustable height feature so we can set the stand quickly to our preferred heights. I’ve enjoyed having a repair stand for years but sometimes didn’t use it because it wasn’t quickly adjustable. This Pro Stand solves that with its thoughtful refinements, making it easy to quickly mount and dismount a bike, or change the stand’s geometry.

Highly Functional, Easy Setup

I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. I have never used a repair stand as such before. Upon receipt I was concerned there would be some complicated setup. The Pro-Mechanic Repair Stand was fully assembled and it took me less than 5 minutes to install my bike on it! Was able to immediately make adjustments and improvements to my bike without having to visit the bike shop. Also conveniently folds up and takes up minimal storage space. Great product!

Misleading Weight Limits

Be careful that you stay within the working load range 10-35lbs. I purchased Feedback Pro-Elite a couple of years ago which was advertised as 'managing any bike frame, up to 75lbs'. The head started to bend, and on contacting customer support, they said my 40lb bike was too heavy and above the working range of 30lb. Unfortunately, at that time, Feedback did not advertise 'working range'. To date, they have offered no solution, even though the stand is within warrantee and I used it according to their specs...

My first repair stand!

I received this product for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. Not being familiar with the Pro Mechanic Repair Stand, I looked for YouTube videos and found some great instructions. Setting the repair stand up was not really a problem, but the videos had some great suggestions and tips. I was surprised that the package did not include any information. First, I set up the bike for my daily computes and used the stand to give the bike a very thorough clean. This turned out to be much easier than without the stand (who knew?!). This last weekend, I set up my hybrid K2 bike on the stand. I had neglected the bike and let a leak in the front fork shock seal fester. Now, I have some serious work to complete as I am in the middle of the project. I have a great teacher which I combine with some additional studying of YouTube videos. The stand works great for both applications. I give it a thumb up!

overpriced and unstable.

Stand was too unstable for mountain bikes. The build quality is cheap! They've cut corners everywhere on this top of the line bike stand. At first glance this version seemed like an upgrade over lower versions because of the metal pieces. But, the clamps are plastic with only a metal lever for looks. There is no reason for the "spinner knob" to be metal. As well as the clamp mechanism, because this stand has so much plastic on it elsewhere. The rubber feet just push into the bottom for a pressure fit, not secured and could easily be lost if traveling with the stand. I expected the logos to be laser etched into the anodized aluminum, but even those are just cheap stickers. Overall not worth the price I paid. Very disappointed.

Very good bike stand

We bought this bicycle repair stand sight unseen. I have become less enamored with Parkland products for your bike home space and since my last expensive purchase I now explore other products brands. This stand is made of high quality Aluminum while the packaging was cheap and could allow for damage. The stand design is unique and clever. The hinges have quality materials and were sturdy and I could see 20 year plus duration. I would recommend better packaging to prevent unnecessary damage.
