It’s still the most stable for my running
9/10 I’ve tried just about every running belt out there, and for me, they all have the same problem: they move. Some bounce, some slip around my waist, and nearly all of them require constant adjustment during a run, which means stop and adjust, or throw of my form while fumbling without stopping. The tighter-fitting belts stay put a little better, but then they usually won’t fit an iPhone Pro Max. That’s why the Janji Multipass Sling has become my go-to running carry solution. I’m currently on my second Multipass Sling and considering buying a third. I’ve been running with these bags in rotation for roughly five years, and they’ve held up remarkably well. My first sling is still functional, although the zippers have become a little stiff over time from years of sweat and salt buildup. The second-generation version showed some thoughtful improvements right away, which was great to see. Zippers for one are a welcome improvement. The biggest advantage is stability. Once the extra stabilization strap is locked down, the sling simply doesn’t move. Not a little. Not occasionally. It stays put 100% of the time for me, whether I’m running easy miles, long runs, or picking up the pace. That’s something I’ve never been able to say about any waist belt. In fact, I find waist belts distracting enough that they affect my running form. When I’m constantly reaching down to readjust a belt, it takes me out of my rhythm and changes my posture. The Multipass eliminates that entirely. My main criticism is (1) that I wish Janji offered a smaller, lower-profile 1L version, and (2) the loops that hold the straps are all now too lost elasticity and too loose or have frayed and split stitches. So there are plenty of runs where I only want to carry my phone, and the current size can feel like more bag than I need. For long runs, it’s excellent, but for shorter outings I’d love something more minimal and yet keeps the form of a sling pack that is secured. I also wish there were a better internal compartment for a car key fob. The v1 original version having a slightly better setup for keeping keys separate, secure, and protected from sweat. A dedicated, water-proof pocket would be a welcome addition. Overall, though, the Janji Multipass Sling is the best running carry solution I’ve found. It’s comfortable, durable, holds everything I need, and most importantly, it stays exactly where I put it. For runners frustrated with belts that bounce, slip, or don’t fit larger phones, this is about as close to perfect as I’ve found. Sun UV faded photos attached and heavy wear, but running 30-40miles per week will do that. Rating: 9/10
Solid bag for long runs!
One run in, it's really solid! The right amount of space. Doesn't bounce, and somehow my stuff seems not to bounce even when it's not stuffed. I have to futz with it (incl the third strap) to keep it from rubbing my nipples, but it's totally doable. The jacket pass-through is quite useful. I like the little ID/credit card holder, and the key holder is great too. (Turn the little plastic holder on the center of the mini double carabiner b/c otherwise it doesn't really open up.) Keeper!
Almost but not quite, feels cheap in the hand.
The big plastic zipper doesn't hold shut very well, especially if the bag is loaded - my things self-ejected within 10min of wearing this. They used to use a better quality zipper, which is still used on the small back pocket and the interior divider, but the main zipper got a big downgrade and just feels really cheap compared to the normal Janji quality. Dang. I really liked this bag before, enough that I gave mine to a friend and went to replace it with a new one, but after getting my hand on the new version I'll pass.
Durable & Secure!
Fabulous product that is extremely durable and good value! I have always loved smaller bags, but I also need it to have a decent amount of pockets / features. The thing I LOVE about this bag is 1. the material (extremely durable) and 2. the strap that secures the bag around you (it's a second strap). I am able to hold two phones, a wallet and dog treats / bags with ease. There is also a hook on the inside pocket that you can secure your keys too.
Best REI purchase ever
Got the sea sky cloud color on sale. Couldnt be happier with this purchase. I'm petite; 29" waist it's Larger than i thought...in a good way. The flat part on either side is what makes it sturdy. So many features: zippered compartment in back & inside Can slide a shirt thru it. (Watch the video). Plan to use it on the plane & for biking in Europe.
Excellent Bag
I bought this bag because I needed something smaller than a running vest for shorter runs, but big enough that I can still take along an extra jacket and items for the dogs. This fits the bill perfectly. It’s also comfortable enough I don’t really think about it. It doesn’t bounce like I expected, and is just the right size. The only thing that’s semi-annoying is not being able to access my phone if it’s in there but it doesn’t bother me that much. Overall very very pleased .
It Did What It Is Made To Do
It did what it is made to do. I bought this for my shorter runs as my new phone is so big it wouldn't fit in my water bottle holder as previous phones did. So I now strap this one for anything under 6 miles. It did take a minute to get all of the straps correctly set and make sure you read the instructions on finding the little strap.
Ideal hip pack.
Great size, well made, and very functional. My wife has been using it instead of a purse for a while. I travel very frequently for work and decided to get it for that. Love to bungee pocket, easily fits a water bottle or thin jacket. Also use it for my phone while running and it doesn't bounce around at all.
No regrets, very functional bag!
I bought this thinking I could use it to run with and also as an "around town" bag for a trip to Seattle. It's been fantastic. I usually run with my phone, key fob, and maybe some cards in a flip belt, or a running vest. Sometimes I want to carry a few more things that fit comfortably in a flip belt, but I don't want to wear the vest. This works really well to fill that in-between space. I ran with it as a waist pack and it didn't bounce. I actually prefer running with it as a sling. The stabilizing strap is clutch so when I bend over the bag doesn't hit me in the head. I guess I also think it looks a little cooler when worn as a sling. I packed it on a trip and it doesn't take up much space. Wore it in back and in front while walking around Seattle. It does in fact shed rain. I carry my phone in the zip pocket closest to my body and it feels secure. Also stashed my Houdini jacket in that in-between space. Great purchase.
Awesome multi-use bag!
I absolutely LOVE my multisling bag! Have used it for work, going out and about, hiking, and mostly for running. It was great during my backyard ultra, and I use it for short distance runs where I don’t need a ton of hydration or nutrition. Highly recommend. Janji is a great company and makes good quality products.
