I love Kinvara's. The move to the taller stack height has me still adjusting after owning over 20 pairs since the K2's. I wish the K14's had to tongue pull tab like on the K13's. Overall, this shoe is still my favorite daily trainer and casual shoe. They are lightweight and offer good cushioning. They are flexible enough for a neutral shoe and have many different colorways. Also, these seem to wear pretty well for a lightweight shoe. If the K14's had a tongue tab and were not as tall, they would be a 5 star for me. For reference, I am a 250lb guy that has over 25 half marathons completed.
These shoes are comfy and nice to wear but they are not at all durable. After my first trail run, the was already visible wearing on the soft foam soles and if you so much as brush up against a rock or stick, the uppers simply rip open. I previously had Liberty ISO 2s and Kinvaras were noted as being the replacement line but while the Liberty ISO 2s lasted 1500kms on the trails before finally having the uppers give up, I'm already worried about the longevity of the Kinvaras after 100km having had to sew up two holes in the uppers after some light abrasion on rocks. Seems like Saucony is prioritizing cheap and lightweight over any form of durability or quality.
This shoe hits the right stars! Light weight, airy upper, fits and hugs the feet without any irritation, and the cushioning is just right for the shorter Tempo runs. A joy to run in.
Kinvara is my go to trainer for mileage buildup. I started out with my first pair of these being my speed work show because they feel light and secure in my feet, but eventually wore them as often as could in my recent training mileage buildup to running 2 marathons 5 weeks apart. I raced in these as well. I’m not the fastest runner and have yet to make the leap to a super shoe on race day but with these shoes I was 100% confident my feet would be alright after the races.
I got it for a really low price up here in Canada. I have walked with it on the treadmill and I like the really thick cushioning. It's too early to give a complete feedback..but I like the Slimegreen color..and so far..so good!
Thank you for sharing your experience!
These are beautiful shoes! However they’re definitely not a running shoe. They don’t seem to have much arch support, therefore I am experiencing strain on my heels and Achilles. Also bought 2nd pair for my husband. Same issue.
I have been in kinvaras since the 9s. And my 9 and 10 are my favorites (especially the Woodstock ones). I agree with majority of the poorer ratings. The construction has been altered these are loose and although light they feel cheap and I am having poor footing as I am over pronating now and causing massive issues despite new insoles. The heel and material of the sole is not what it used to be and is overly cushioned causing more damage than good. I unfortunately will be moving on from my beloved kinvaras which upsets me tremendously as I feel like I starting over in fittings. I may totally jump ship for a hoka if other models are constructed the same.
I have been a dedicated Kinvara runner for some time, however I once again note with this model as in the prior that I have 2 pair of the appliqués are coming off very quickly. Do you not think this cheapens the look of the shoe as I certainly don’t find it very ecstatically pleasing. May have to switch brands.
Received my Kinvara 14, Liberty edition, last week. This is a great looking shoe with the inscribed, Land of the Free, inside the tongue and USA on the heel. Shoe came with white and blue shoe laces-I choose the blue. I’ve ran in this shoe 3 times already- it’s comfortable and lightweight.
I was stoked to try these super light low drop runners and the first few 5km runs I felt I had wings. I’ve put only about 25 km on them at this point and I loved them until a day after my last run. My tarsals and metatarsals started to ache on my right foot so I took a day off. I immediately recalled the scorching negative review posted by solereview, how the shoe is likely to cause foot injury due to the sole design. Today I ran another 5km in the Kinvara 14s this morning to give them another chance because I like them so much, and tonight the pain shot up to about an 8 when I walk, mainly in the bones around the ball of my feet. My left foot has about a level 2 pain. So I’m pretty sure it’s the shoes. I do pronate a little but still prefer neutral shoes usually and don’t have problems. The Peregrine 13s are a favourite shoe so I thought these would be great. Unfortunately I’m having to now agree with the solereview. Do not run in these on a regular basis!! I gave an extra star because I love the super light weight, the extra cushioning and 4 mm drop.
