bad design for pockets

I bought this older model since the back part did not have the clips protruding to adjust torso. But it arrived and my assessment is, no wonder they redesigned this. 1. hard to get into large part to out clothes in without unclipoi g tie down straps. 2. The shoulder straps when tightened cover up part of the hip pockets so you cannot fully unzip 3. The hydration opening to out hose thru is so tight and ince its theu, its cramped down on the nexck. 4. The center zipper pocket, although nice feature, is hard to unzip because they put an annoying velcro piece at too wher you pull zipoer. bmmy suggestion is by the newer model. stay away from this monster

Sternum strap is too high

I like the size of the pack and the pocket design and quantity is pretty good. The relatively small/tight opening for the hydration hose is not a problem for me. The pockets on the hip belt are a good size but they're a bit farther back on the body than I'd like - though adding some wax to the zippers plus a carbiner to extend the pull loop made it easier to open them with one hand. My main complaint and frustration is the sternum strap rides really high up by the clavical, close to my throat - and there doesn't seem to be a way to slide the adjusters down farther on the shoulder straps so it rides closer to the middle of my stermum

Great Day Pack

Great for day hikes. The backpack fits my hammock, straps, my backpacking chair, first aid kit, hat(s), snacks, etc. The hardback and hip-straps make it very comfortable.

Overall good, but issue

The hip belt and back suspension is wonderful. I don't understand why companies won't make a side pocket that fits a mobile phone. The bladder access is a pain, wish it was in it's one compartment. The opening to put the tube thru is awful. I though it might loosen up over time so it was not a struggle to thread it thru but not so far. Please product developers - not all women want purple/pink, black or electric blue. If the black pack had a light inner color (electric blue, yellow, bright green, orange) to make it easier to see that would have been ok... but could you please offer a NEUTRAL color with your packs? A nice grey, with some color accents? a nice navy blue. I am so tired of purple and pink and electric blue!

Beautiful pack but not for me

this is a beautiful backpack. I really liked everything about it with the exception of one important feature. The water bladder sits inside the backpack which is ok but the hole that lets you take the tube to the outside of the pack is so small that I felt is would be an issue every time I wanted to remove the bladder to clean or empty or fill it. If that wouldn't bother you, then go for it. It is very well made and has other great features.

lacking in organization capability

This pack has almost no organization capability. The main pocket is one big hole. the vertical zip pocket is one big hole and then there is the small grab pocket a the top. I'm coming from a bag where the large body of the bag was actually 1 large pocket and one smaller one with an interior small zip pocket and small slip pocket plus the vertical pocket and a grab pocket. I'm going to have to find lots of small storage things and then be able to figure out which has what in it and dig it out of the big pocket. Not liking it...

Perfect Pack for Me

I purchased this pack for my daughter and another for myself. It has been a terrific purchase, we hardly notice that we are wearing them! This is our first pack purchase other than book bags. There are many pockets, easily accessible for snacks/water. We sometimes add a water bladder and there is still plenty of room to carry our lunch and extra clothing. We've used them for long day long hikes and short 1-2 hour hikes, barely noticing that we are wearing them. I love the pack!

Need a EASY access pocket for phone (camera)

Love the pack. Used it for a couple of long day hikes this past weekend. The big MISS on this pack (and on pretty much every other pack I looked at) was a CONVENIENT place to carry a phone. My phone is my camera when I travel/hike so I want to have a convenient, safe place to access it. I find it very frustrating that in 2017 they don't make a pack with a place to access a phone! The little pockets on the hip don't work for a phone - I have an iPhone 7 (not the Plus) and it's still too large to fit in the little zip pocket. Yes, I can get it in, but it is SOOOOO not worth the struggle. PLEASE consider this as an option in the future. Honestly for $130, it should be a standard feature. The only other comment would be to have another pocket on the inside to throw things in that is not just the deep pocket along the back.

Seems small / shoulder straps irritating

The mesh suspension back & nice hip straps are the best part of this pack! It distributes the weight along your back & hips. Love the adjustable torso length. The shoulder straps seem a bit irritating. They ride into my armpits & the mesh fabric is kinda rough in that sensitive area. The pack itself seems small in storage space compared to others of similar size. The rigid back seems to limit it's expansion capabilities. I'm not a fan of the vertical zipper pocket on the outside & would rather have a stretch stuff pocket. I'm still trying to decide if this pack is going back or not. Afraid the straps will bother me & I won't have enough storage. The Skimer 22 seems roomier & has more comfortable straps, just not the nice back suspension & hip belts. Plus the Skimmer comes with the hydration bag, Sirrus (this one) does not.

Nice but Small

There are a lot of good features in this pack, but there is also room for improvement. First, the good things, frame/suspension system is very comfortable. The pack is nice and light weight. The straps to cinch it down when it's not full are great. I love the color. A few improvements are needed. I'd like to see the size increased to 28-30 litres. Once a hydrationr bag is in the pack, there is not enough room for gear for a long day hike. The opening for the hydration bag hose is too small. It should be double the size. One should not have to fight to get a hydration bag into a backpack. I think Osprey needs to go back to offering two sizes in women's packs. I'm only 5'6" and I had to max out the adjustment on the frame to get it to fit. I returned mine and am waiting for the 2019 models to come out in hope they have improved this pack.
