Love them, broke them in before my hike, they are great will try the low tops next but I love this boot. I have Rheumatoid arthritis and full knee replacement, 6 toe fusions and hiking can be painful. I really don’t how I lived with out this boot before. The grip is awesome.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to get my second pair of these shoes. My first pair was amazing. I loved them so much they have little to no tread left, so I decided to get a new pair. This time around was very disappointing. Once I opened the box I could tell they were not made the same. My first pair was nice & wide which is why they were perfect, this new pair is more narrow. I went to break them in..after 20 minutes of walking I could feel the sides of my big & pinky toe rubbing against the shoe. I had to keep them on for my prep day at work which last 4 hrs. I work as an outdoor educator & rely on good foot wear. These shoes are made well but are for narrow feet. Beware if you need more width for your toes. I'm including a photo of one old & new side by side .
It has been 9 months that I am wearing this product every day and I am satisfied with them. They look nice and they fit well. The ankle support is also very good. However, despite my expectations, the outsole got wornout so soon. You know, I did my research before getting these and according to internet reviews, "Continental" outsoles used on these Adidas shoes are among the durable ones but they did not last even a year for me. I mean, I know that I am wearing these shoes everyday but, only for walking, not even hiking on mountains or rocks. So yeah, I regret that these shoes outsole did not turn out well . I expected them to last at least 2.5 years for me before turning like this.
I typically wear a women’s size 8 or 8.5. I ordered both to be safe based on reviews and even the size 8 is at least an entire size too big. I wonder if these are mismarked men’s shoes. They are truly that big. Even still, I wasn’t impressed with the comfort or quality and the lug size was also a bit small. I don’t see how these would compare quality-wise with La Sportiva or Oboz. They would probably be ok for little hikes around urban trails, but definitely not built for day-long hikes in rough terrain or backpacking. I do like the colors and wish more retailers would offer hiking boots that weren’t just brown and black.
i love the shoe. The only thing is it has a defect that the right shoe is way tighter than the left shoe. I’m waiting for the replacement since I returned it for exchange.
I like these shoes a lot. They are super comfy, but they aren’t waterproof. My feet have been wet all day from working in wet grass. They are only a few months old too. I would return them, but it took til the rainy season to realize this. They also stain pretty quickly if you get the aqua one. The stain is fine because it’s a workboot, but the moisture issue makes it pretty worthless.
Bought these for my trip to Iceland. I was looking for something to withstand all elements and be comfortable at the same time, and this did just that. Water, sand, ice, gravel - it was perfect for all. The grip was on point, not once did I ever slide. Also, if your deciding between the terrex swift r3 or this one (Ax4), I would choose the Ax4 because as you may know your feet swells when walking and I felt the r3 was a bit too fitted around my feet.
I have a fairly normal sized 8 foot, although with Brooks women's running shoes I wear 8.5. The length of these Adidas Terrex shoes is accurate for my size, and a size 8 would work for my length, but the width in the toe box is too large. The heel fits ok, however. If you have a pretty wide foot and a standard length for a given shoe size, it will probably be fine for you. The shoes are light and seem well-made. My foot is not abnormally narrow, but apparently a bit narrower than average based on how wide so many of these shoes seem to be.
After purchasing the Men's Terrex Agravic Ultra Bca Trail Running Shoes, getting these ones in a high top was a must. They were a little more spacious (didn’t order wide, just in length) than the low ones, but not so much movement inside the shoe that it was off putting… just a lil extra wiggle room for my toes. I will definitely be getting more from the Terrex series!
These boots have been put to test. Rain, Snow, subzero temps and lots of mud and they keep my feet warm and dry! The only drawback is that they are difficult to put on. That is the only reason for 4 stars.
