Adidas is my go to brand, I’d been wanting some Walking / Hiking shoes for some time. Yes they run small and need to size up, the uppers are very solid and durable, they are very comfortable despite the extra stiffness in the sole plate and heel. My issue and disappointment is in the wear on the sole. Having worn these most days for a few a couple of hours in normal conditions, the wear on the sole, especially the ball of the foot is surprisingly very high and not what I’d expected or experienced from any other Adidas shoe, given they are made using Continental rubber - personally I expected much better wear as these are designed for rugged conditions.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got Terrex AX4 Wide Hiking Shoes because my feet are, well, wide. My first hike was up a mountain trail five miles and 4,260 feet, and back down, again. The shoes were very comfortable during the ascent. I love the design. The tread is very functional across just about any terrain. The toe protection helped cushion the tops of my toes when I kicked boulders and rocks. During the descent, though, I couldn’t get the shoes tight enough to keep my toes from jamming into the fronts of the toeboxes. I’ll lose one big toenail for sure and probably also the other. However, this problem is a sizing problem particular to me. In all other respects, the shoe is great.
THE most stylish shoe for hiking. Goes with everything and is super functional, loved them. I would go half a size below your regular size I had to get one whole size down from my regular size to get ir right, but was worth it
If I were you, I would close the Adidas tab and go find a hiking shoe elsewhere. I saw these on sale, they were super cute, and I bought them. I wanted to love them so badly. I broke them in on 2-4 hour hikes several days a week for over two months. Then I went to do the Camino de Santiago. 10-mile hikes every day for 10 days. Had to switch to flip-flops, it was impossible to walk, blisters everywhere, my toes were on fire. It was like someone poured cement on my foot and when it dried, that was this shoe. I wish I could return them. Adidas is not a hiking shoe brand. Do yourself a favor and go to a brand that specializes in hiking boots.
Really love them. Bought them for hiking but comfortable enough for my regular rotation. Fit was a little off from what I expected, not quite as wide as I thought wide would be. But toes were great! I have weird shaped feet. Just do. Felt confident on the trail. I’m definitely a beginner hiker and this was a great compromise between a light sneaker and a heavy boot to help me get started. Feel like great quality too. I would recommend these.
These shoes are very uncomfortable and heavy. I bought these abroad and when I tried them at the store the fit seemed okay, it wasn’t until I started going on walks that I noticed these were small on me making my toes hurt and one would bleed (and I got a size bigger than I normally wear). They run small so probably you’ll have to request two sizes more than what you normally wear. These are not waterproof meaning if you walk on wet grass you’ll notice that your socks are wet when you take off the shoes. I am in the process of requesting an exchange. Feeling very unhappy as these were very expensive.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I originally ordered & got a pair I had to return because of issues with finished product. My 2nd pair that was sent as replacement had same issue. **I am a former corporate security officer for a corporation that had 3 major brands within the fashion industry. And what I received both times would be considered 2nds... Not 1sts on any given finished production run... I'm disappointed in Adidas.
I’ve owned 5 or 6 pairs of gortex terrex in the past. I bought these as a summer shoe for nicer weather. Only two months of wear and the Webbing is splitting along the toe crease. The stitching on the end of the toe piece is undoing. A very inferior shoe to its more expensive gortex unit. I’m going to go back to Hokka, at least I could get 12 months out of them, and the laces are better
I had 14 soccer games to referee in a tournament 2 hours away from home. When I arrived at the hotel on Friday night I realized I had left my turf cleats at home. There was no way my feet would stand working 14 games in firm ground cleats. So I had to go shopping. Couldn't find any turf cleats(I don't like wearing tennis shoes on wet grass, don't want to be the ref that lands on his butt trying to stop fast). Couldn't find any in my size. The traction on these are similar to turf cleats and the price was reasonable so I gave them a shot. Reffed 14 games and my feet were fine Sunday night. Never slipped an inch and they are pretty light for hiking shoes. Using them as trail running shoes now.
These are my second and third pairs that I bought on sale. I bought the shoes for their and foot support comfort. I walk 10KM a day. Only issue I had is one day it was 34 degrees outside, when I got home the the soles were worn down. This was absolutely disappointing.
